" marc, baby... we should talk. " it's not hard to guess what about. his journal clasped in layla's hands in front of her, a look of apology and concern on her features. it's her curse, really - she sticks her nose where it doesn't belong enough times, and something is bound to bite back. she'd only wanted to skim for mentions of her name to tease him later, and... she thought she knew everything about the man she loves, that nothing he'd write down would shock her. how wrong she was.

Anger. Frustration. Grief. A multitude of emotions rush through him as his eyes bounce between her hands and her face. She's got is journal, their journal held in front of her. Marc never locks it because he trusted her to not read it. He did hide it under a loose floorboard, however out of caution. He uses the journal to communicate with Jake and Steven so they can try to minimize the memory gaps between switches in who's fronting.
Marc knew he couldn't hide that he has DID forever from her. He also knew he couldn't hide Steven and Jake from her forever. However he thought he'd have a little more time. "Layla, sweetheart..." he begins, voice already shaky, eyes already watery with intense emotion. There's no skirting this, is there? If he tries to ease her into it, tries to dismiss it she'll think he's cheating or lying. He needs to rip the band aid off and hope that she'll still love him afterwards.
"I have Dissociative Identity Disorder. Jake and Steven are people, people who share this body," he motions to himself, "with me." Within himself he can feel Jake and Steven stirring, wanting to protect him. He's managed to push them back for now. He, Marc Spector needs to hash this out with his wife first. Then can meet her later. Jake's anger is not something to be underestimated though and Jake, despite Layla being Marc's wife is livid she read something so private without permission.
"I need you to give me the journal back, Layla. Jake is really mad you read it. He wouldn't hurt you but he'd probably start shouting and cussing at you and I don't want that to be your first impression of him."
