Coming out to Layla was difficult for Marc. Difficult for all of them, really but especially for Marc. He had let the secret simmer out of anxiety and a need to defend the system. Marc had wanted to believe that Layla wouldn't call them crazy or leave them but society was so judgmental. And with an inability to read minds, he decided to play it safe by not telling her. Marc is glad she knows now. They're all thankful for it actually. It's nice to not have to pretend to be Marc if they accidentally switch in her presence.
She was supposed to spend time with Marc today but something triggered Marc... Something that Steven can't even remember what it was. All he knows is that it prompted Mark to push him to the front. So now he's confused and crying, all the while Layla letting herself in with the key they gifted her. He uses a calloused palm to wipe stray tears from their a face as he mumbles an apology about 'Marc not being home right now.'
