WHO: Pinky Parkinson and Savannah Wilkinson WHEN: Friday, March 3rd, 1978. 7:29PM. After dinner. WHERE: Ravenclaw Common Room
There was so much gloom and doom circulating around Hogwarts these days and Pinky Parkinson felt in desperate need of a distraction. She marched with purpose up the Grand Staircase, putting force into each and every step. Had this been a normal day in a normal year, she would have likely not put forth this amount of effort. It was a simple bit of matchmaking, quite easy, really. Yet with all of the horror and violence, she clung to the task desperately. It was a bit of fun in an otherwise terrible few weeks.Â
While rounding the corner into fourth floor of Ravenclaw Tower, Pinky furrowed her eyebrows in deep concentration. While she was confident in her ability to get the job done, it was always smart to go into things like this well prepared. Pinky had spoken to Savannah Wilkinson a handful of times, but not as much as she would have liked to. It was a shame, really, because this would be a lot easier if the two of them were friends. Alas, she had been slow in her friendship building this year, what with all of the death and the chaos. Still, from what she had seen and heard, Savannah was a nice girl. It wouldnât be that hard for her to get a conversation going. However, what Pinky was not sure about, was whether or not it would be difficult to get her to discuss Alexei Krum. Pinky bit her lip, approaching the entrance to the Ravenclaw Common Room. Hard or not, she would get Savannah to at least think about it. She could do that much.Â
The riddle to get inside was one of the easier ones, so she was inside just a few minutes later. It was just after dinnertime, so the Common Room was more crowded than usual. Ravenclaws were chatting, doing homework, playing games all around. She could spot Lorcan in the corner, sitting at a table near Amelia Bones. Her older brother Edgar was by the fire with his veela girlfriend, Gabrielle. Ludo was nearby, laughing about something with Zelda Kar, although she didnât seem to think it very funny. Nobody seemed to care about her presence, considering she was here quite often. Finally, in a plush, blue armchair, she found Savannah. She was reading, but Pinky didnât mind interrupting that. As she approached, she flicked her wand at a slightly smaller chair, summoning it in her direction. It settled just across from Savannah, and Pinky lowered herself fluidly into the seat. She smiled. âHey, Savannah!â Her voice was as perky as always. âI didnât expect to see you here!â A white lie, of course. Savannah Wilkinsonâs revolving of Common Rooms was well known in the gossip ring at school. âI thought you might have been in Gryffindor, with your brother.â She glanced at the book in Savannahâs hand, âWhat are you reading?â
