Day 3 - Part two - The battle
The screen fades to the remaining tributes
DJ is sitting atop the cornucopia when he sees three tributes rushing towards the water. Ā He doesn't move, realizing that he is relatively safe from his position, and would rather just let the others deal with themselves. Caitlin is rushing towards her canteen, when someone tackles her, hard, from her right side. Ā Caitlin is immediately winded, and manages to catch her breath only to see the silhouette of her attacker, knife in hand, looming over her. Ā āPlease, donāt!ā Caitlin cries. āI donāt want to! I hate this! But I need to get home,ā Grace solemnly replies. Grace swiftly brings the knife down towards Caitlinās neck, but Caitlin, in a last second effort for her life, kicks her leg up to knock away the blade, and forward to throw Grace off of her. Ā The first kick connects, and the knife lands 5 feet to the left of the struggling pair. Caitlin aims another kick at Graceās head, but Grace is faster, and rains down a flurry of punches towards Caitlinās chest, slowly gaining back the upper hand. Desperate, Caitlin looks over to Graceās knife, only to find it has disappeared. Ā It reappears moments later in Graceās back. Grace from district twelve has fallen, District 12 no longer has any tributes. āThatās to apologize for running away!ā Karlee shouts as she runs away from the site of the brawl. āConsider us even!ā Caitlin shouts back. Realizing that he might not be as safe as he originally thought, DJ pulls back his slingshot, and sends a medium sized rock directly into Caitlinās shoulder. Ā Caitlin winces in pain, but then picks up the rock and hurls it straight back at her attacker, just barely missing DJās leg. Surrounded by a multitude of rocks and other projectiles, DJ looses volley upon volley of miscellaneous projectiles, and manages to keep both of the former allies a good distance Ā away from the feast. With one of his last rocks, DJ hits Karlee squarely in the forehead, knocking her unconscious and unresponsive. Ā She slumps down, but is luckily shielded by the high sand dune she was in the process of climbing. Annabeth is still in her sand ditch when the fighting breaks out. Ā Seeing an opportunity, Annabeth quietly makes her way to the back corner of the cornucopia and grabs her water bottle. Ā She then scales the cornucopia and sneaks up behind the preoccupied DJ. āForget about me?ā Annabeth whispers as she shoves him over the edge. DJ lands on his left arm with a sickening thud and a bloodcurdling wail. Itās clear that the fall has done some damage, the extent of which however, Ā he will have to investigate later. Ā Annabeth slides down and slams her shovel down over DJās face, but he rolls onto his stomach and avoids the shovel a second time. DJ desperately throws his legs forward, and shoves Annabeth off. He then grabs his canteens and runs. Caitlin quickly looks around for Karleeās body, and having only heard one cannon, assumes that she made it away safe. She grabs her bottle and runs. Annabeth, being the last one at the cornucopia, Ā takes her fill of water before walking away over a high sand dune. Ā Not noticing that the sand is looser than she thought, she slips and tumbles to the base, landing squarely beside the unconscious Karlee. Ā Annabeth, shocked, checks the non-responsive tributes pulse. āIām sorry about this, hopefully people in our district will forgive me...ā Annabeth winces as she slams her shovel down. Karlee from district four is dead.
Day 3 - part one
Upon the completion of the announcement, the sun rises on the cornucopia to reveal a waterfall-like fountain cascading from the top of the mouth of the structure. Ā Around the fountain are 5 full metal canteens engraved with individual district numbers, and several empty ones. The capitol eagerly awaits whatās next.
DJ
As the announcerās voice dies down, DJās pops his head out of his tree. LookingĀ Ā visibly sick from dehydration, he decides to go as quickly as he can, because it is apparent that he might not make it much longer without some sort of liquid. He quickly scales down the tree and sprints to the Cornucopia, arriving first. Ā He plunges his head into the cool cascade and replenishes his dangerously low water level. Ā DJ then grabs the canteen labeled ā7ā, fills an empty one, scales to his original cornucopia-top position from the bloodbath, and draws his slingshot. Grace Meanwhile, the announcement wakes the sleeping grace. Up in her tree, she yawns and finishes off her last bit of bread. Ā Confused as to why the gamemakers were giving them water, she turns her gaze to the oasis. A horrified look crosses her face as she sees the quicksand. Ā Grace climbs down the tree as fast as possible and runs toward the Cornucopia, but when it is in sight, she decides to head towards the desert landform and hides behind a cluster of bushes. Eventually, she draws her knife, and runs towards the water. Karlee and Caitlin After the announcement finishes, Karlee looks contemplatively at the amount of water left in her bottle, debating whether or not to take the risk. Ā Her gaze turns as her ally, Caitlin, rises and appears to have the same thought. āIām going to go rest up in that tree over there, ok?ā she tells her ally, the shame of lying to a friend heavy in her voice. āYeah, sure. Iām feeling better now, so Iāll go check for food.ā Caitlin replies, the same tone heavy in her voice as well. Karlee turns and leaps into the next tree. Ā She turns and gives one last look at her ally, but finds she is nowhere to be found. Ā She climbs down from the tree, makes her way around the now dry oasis, and does her best to stick to the shadows as she makes her way to the feast. Behind a tree, Caitlin watches her ally walk off, and slowly follows a similar path, obsidian āknivesā in hand. Annabeth Annabeth is seen emerging from her tent while the voice of the Gamemaker rings out around the arena. Ā Having just run out of water, and realizing her dire situation, Annabeth starts ripping off pieces of the tent to make a stronger bandage for her leg. She uses the tent poles to strengthen it. Ā Annabeth continues to improve her makeshift cast until she is satisfied that her leg is stable.
She grabs her trusty shovel and begins to walk towards the Cornucopia. But before she is too close she dropped down into a small ditch to wait for the other tributes.
The dice have been rolled, the victims have been chosen.
Day 3 will most likely be posted either tonight or tomorrow.
Thanks for submitting early!
Day 3 - The Feast
Tributes, congratulations to the 5 of you for making it to day 3. Overnight, the oasis has almost completely Ā drained, leaving a large quicksand-like mire. Tributes could attempt to get to the small water patch in the middle, but it would be a big risk. An announcerās voice appears over the arena speakers: āTributes! You are all invited to the cornucopia to satisfy your thirsts. But come quickly, because the sun wonāt allow our water to remain here long.ā
Will you take up their offer? You have 5 days to submit day 3 - DUE AUGUST 24TH note: at this point, not submitting will most likely result in death, and almost all face to face confrontations will be resolved by the dice.

Grace:
Caesar Flickerman:Ā WelcomeGrace Ā all the way fromĀ district 12!Now, how are you finding the capitol?
Tribute response: Itās so clean. I feel like Iām making everything dirty just by being here.Ā I try not to touch anything because I know Iāll probably just break it. Itās completely different to district 12.
Caesar Flickerman: So what is your favorite thing about the capitol.
Tribute response: I quite like seeing all the crazy colourful things everyone wears here.Ā
Caesar Flickerman: So, I can see that you have a training score ofĀ 7Ā how do you feel about that?
Tribute response: Iām happy with that. I didnāt expect it to be that high to be honest.
Caesar Flickerman: So who do you think is the hardest competition?
Tribute response: Well Harrison got the highest score so I guess he must be good at something?Ā
Caesar Flickerman: Are you looking forward to the arena, I hear that the game makers have something special planned?
Tribute response: No Iām not actually, but thatās nice of them.
Caesar Flickerman: I was wondering how the reaping was for you?
Tribute response: The hardest part was seeing my family so upset and knowing I might not ever see them again⦠and then saying good bye.
Caesar Flickerman: Finally, how well do you think you will do in the arena, are you somebody that we should be betting on?
Tribute response: Well Iām definitely going to try and win. I donāt think people expect much from me but maybe they should?Ā

Opening ceremony: Grace D12
It was time for Grace to meet her stylist Moola. Moola was a large man both in height and width. He wore a formal bright orange suit and had a matching hat. He was a very bubbly man and was so excited to show her what he had designed for the opening ceremony.Ā He tells her about the theme for this year which is summer. āWhat do you like most about summer in District 12?ā he asks. Grace stops and thinks for a while before quietly replying āThe flowersā. Moola gives her a big cheesy grin āThatās exactly what I thought!ā he said excitedly. He quickly makes his way towards a large cupboard which is filled with his own designs and takes out a white dress that has been covered all over with Summer Orchids. The Orchids are so bright and colourful, pink, yellow, purple, orange. Grace gasps at how beautiful they are.Ā Moola helps her into the dress and guides her towards a large mirror. She stares at the dress and canāt help imagining she is back home in her garden, back in district 12. She wants to cry but takes a deep breath and forces herself to be strong. The dress is long and covers her feet but feels as light as a feather. Moola places a wreath of flowers on her head. He then attaches a purple butterfly to the front of the wreath and stands back admiring his work. āOne last thing!ā He attaches large golden wings to the back of the dress that shine like the summer sun. Sheās a Summer Orchid fairy. Grace used to imagine that fairies lived in her garden, helping things grow.Ā āThank youā Grace said happily as she stroked one of the wings. āYouāre welcome my dear, itās my pleasure, they are gonna love you!ā Grace tried to smile back at Moola but she is now feeling extremely nervous about the ceremony. She knows sheās not very good at making people like her. āGood luck my little fairy!ā Moola says.Ā As the chariot moves through the crowd of people Grace notices them staring at her. She waves and smiles at them, feeling happy to be showing off the Summer Orchids from her own district.
District 12 task one
Holly
Holly did not submit her first task.
Grace
I was reaped⦠Iāve always told my loved ones not to volunteer for me if Iām ever chosen⦠I wouldnāt be able to deal with the guilt if someone died for me. When my name was called out I was in shock. I thought I must be having another nightmare. But people were turning around and starring at me. I feel so confused that I look for my family in the crowd, my older sister who was lucky enough to never be reaped, my parents and grandma. I see the looks on their faces and realise whatās going on. This isnāt a nightmareā¦well of course itās a nightmare, but unfortunately Iām not asleep. Someone behind me gives me a gentle push towards the stage. By the time I make it up the stairs I feel like I might faint. Standing up on stage is difficult as my knees are shaking so much. Everyone is quiet and starring at me. A part of me considers running off the stage away from all of this, but I know thatās not an option. I try to be brave and save my tears for later when Iām alone. I have to be strong for my family. I donāt bother trying to hide the fact that Iām terrified because that seems impossible.
Saying goodbye to my loved ones is the hardest thing Iāve ever had to do. Although Iām going to try and win I donāt expect that I will so I make sure I take a good look at everyone knowing it could be the last time I ever see them. My grandma is the calmest out of everyone and as she hugs me she whispers into my ear āBring me back some Capitol chocolate after you winā She smiles and winks at me.
