Since my last entry, I’ve been really excited to hunt. Cyndaquil was a Pokemon I’ve wanted for a very, very long time, so I decided to also hunt in an area where a Pokemon I wanted to have shiny for a long time was: Route 32! Here, there were Rattatas and Bellsprout, but the Pokemon I wanted the most: Mareep! Sheep, as an animal, are a little nostalgic to me. Sheepie used to be a nickname of mine in my friend group, even if it was a joke. To me, it just reminds me of good times. Not only that, but the shiny was PINK. And let me tell you, there’s a reason why my blog’s name is the amalgamation of Samurai and Flamingo: I love me some Pink.  Now, I was hunting this for a couple of days. I’ll be honest, I don’t usually random encounter for shiny hunting, so seeing how fast these encounters were was actually a nice surprise. A few days went by, and here came my birthday. That day was...oddly quiet, so I took sometime to shiny hunt.  And on my 3046th encounter...

IT WAS A SHINY. ON MY BIRTHDAY

AND IT WAS PINK.

Needless to say, I had freaked out a little bit. I caught the little guy in a Premier Ball, and named him Middy. 

Ahh...this was my first time seeing a shiny dex in person! I was so ecstatic!!! 

He was a Lax natured little pink axolotl. It wasn’t the little sheep that I wanted, but I WILL be trying again. But for now, It was time to train this little guy up so we could face off in the gym battle!

Seeing as how I had to keep going back to the Pokemon Center since there were Bellsprout everywhere, I could see why he wasn’t exactly thrilled with me...

And hey, Lux evolved right before it too! The gym was a cake walk, and I went off to go and chase some Team Rocket Punks out of a well and get on with my next hunt! Do you have a guess for what I’m trying to hunt for next? Send an ask and let me know!

Current Shinies:

So obviously, I didn’t want to start this run with a Chikorita, so I was hoping for something different. Well... I got not one, but two, but yes, three Chikoritas. I won’t lie, I was a little bit sad. I have never reset over shinies before, and yet I did so three times. I honestly felt a little ashamed! But... Once I hit 4407 soft resets... I found this little guy:

And I was so ecstatic! I wanted this little guy the most! He was a Gentle male, and I named him Lux. 

Like I said yesterday, this is the first event I will hold on my blog! A Shiny badge quest is when you have to get a shiny Pokemon before every gym. I’m doing this shiny badge quest on Heart Gold! Let’s start with the rules:

You much catch at least one Shiny Pokémon before every Gym Badge you get.

You much nickname every Shiny that you catch.

Duplicate Shinies are allowed, due to their rarity.

Your battle team must only consist of the Shiny Pokémon you capture. Non-Shiny HM-users and Pokémon only used for hunting are allowed.

Wild Shinies and Shinies obtained via Soft-Resetting are both viable. Masuda-Method Shinies and the Red Gyarados do not count for this run.
