Commission for @galfrey of Marion Hawke and Samson :D Thanks a lot for working with me <3
"Bail and Obi-Wan as medieval-fantasy RPG characters archetypes."? xD
"I do hope your next assignment won't get me as perilously close to having my nether regions served up as a rancor delicacy."The shadow of Kenobi is cat-like, as is usual; Bail can just make out the slightness of him in the folds of his curtains, which hang limply in the heat. Inside the damp stone of the castle, thankfully, it is cool, and he is unhurried in turning his attention to the ranger's demand."Nothing nearly so dangerous, luckily for you," he smiles, and he can practically hear Kenobi smirking back. "All I need is some spying done.""Council?""Senate.""Hm," Kenobi says, and then he's there by Bail's side, reached over his fur-trimmed sleeve to examine and memorize his list of targets, smelling of pine and leather that has been slept in for just a little too long. "Reward?""The usual."
"Oh how I long for the day when I've earned enough to get out of this place," Kenobi says - sweetly, almost genteel.
Luckily for Bail, he knows that that day is a long while off.Â
Six Sentence Sunday
Since it’s Sunday, here are the first six sentences I wrote with Marion and Raleigh. Originally I just sent it to Daisy, but now everyone gets to hurt:
"Good thing I'm nothing like her," he chuckled. "Can't imagine our Lady ever let Maferath hold her down and fuck her raw."
"Is that who I am, then?" asked Samson. "You just waiting on me to stab you in the back?"
"I'd say your aim was more than a little off if you were hitting my back," Hawke said, grinning luridly. His hand - warm, strong, sure - gripped Raleigh firmly by the neck. "You can't betray me, Sam," he breathed in his lover’s ear, "I know exactly who we are … what we're doing. And the fire can't touch us."
I was just trying to listen to the Marion Hawke playlist and out of nowhere it's REGINA SPEKTOR WITH THE FOLDING CHAIR (Samson)

City of Lies by Sam Hawke
This book was amazing and I loved it. I can’t sing it’s praises enough because the author is a debut and it’s so underrated.
I love poison tasters since I devoured the Poison Study series…if you haven’t read that series stop reading this and go read it. I’m serious stop. Since I loved poison tasters I already knew I’d love this book. And because I’m writing about a poison taster as a minor character in my #projectassassin WIP I was reading for market research as well. While this book isn’t like mine in the slightest I still loved it.
@samhawke replied to your post “I’m becoming more and more certain that I want to go on T and it’s a...”
That's super cool! Good luck!
Thank you! <333 crossing my fingers that the 4-6 month waiting list will be closer to 4 than 6 months :3
1, 23 & 24? :)
1. is there a story you’re holding off on writing for some reason?
I am currently holding off on 99% of my ideas for the pure and simple reason that if I allow myself to think about them for more than five seconds I will lose ground in studying. *G* BUT I am particularly holding off for the moment - because I anticipate it being incredibly fun and all-consuming - on Luchtgeuzen, a historical project I’ve been planning with @agarthanguide on and off for more than a year. It got Bigger during her visit and it’s going to be so cool.
23. any obscure life experiences that you feel have helped your writing?
It’s not particularly obscure, but I think my experiences with travel help with the little details; I like squirreling in little things that add color and add depth.
24. have you ever become an expert on something you previously knew nothing about, in order to better a scene or a story?
SO MANY things. Most recently I ended up learning a lot about the distillation of sarsaparilla and the herbal/medical properties of sassafras for a piece I wrote for my Senpai. *G*
