If I had a nickel for every time one of us came up with an alternate timeline where Vio fucked up while trying to bring Shadow back and got exploded about it, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that we've repeated that plot beat twice.

My favorite trick is finding ways to trick my brain into thinking I’m gaining momentum.

A few winters back, I decided to crochet a granny square blanket. It was only a baby blanket, but it was still a lot of work, and my motivation was starting to flag. So, instead making one entire square at a time, I divvied things up.

It was a star pattern, and all the stars were the same color, so I made all 54 of them first. And after that was finished, I completed the 26 squares that had the same background color, then moved onto the next biggest color grouping, and so on.

It would’ve been the exact same amount of work no matter how I did it, but this way the remainder of the task felt smaller and more manageable each time I completed a step. And now I look for ways to apply the same technique whenever I’ve got a big and/or monotonous task to accomplish.
