what about Catholic raised Mary who was told touching a boy before marriage makes her a sinner but she touches regulus anyway because he's awful so at least they'll burn together. what about Mary half believing some part of her soul will burn when she touches the holy water at church because she isn't the virgin Mary she's Mary Macdonald. What about Mary who doesn't need the holy water to eat away at her soul because Regulus does it for her.
what about Mary who isn't destroyed by religion. by the holy water her mother flicks on her every Sunday. what about Mary who isn't destroyed by holy water but by holywater.
