Since so many self ship writers have expressed feeling discouraged, we've decided to make a blog to try and counter that! They're out with you and they feel a sudden rush of intense fondness. They have to act! You look so good!! And they're delighted to be with you! They couldn't be happier!! So despite their usual boundaries, they reach out for you.

It could be a simple gesture. A brush of their fingers against yours. Linking a finger or two together. Whispered compliments, praise, or a petname into your ear. Or a light, brief touch against your back or shoulder. They might just glue themselves to your side.

Or maybe it's a bolder one. They wrap an arm around your waist and pull you close. A firm but gentle hug from the side or behind, whichever they know you prefer. A kiss on the hand or cheek or even your lips. Maybe they stop the whole conversation in their tracks just to suck in a breath and let slip how lovely they think you are.

They might get flustered or embarrassed after the whole thing. Blushing and/or apologising, or trying to clear their throat and act natural. But that smile on your face or pleased look in your eyes made it all worth it.
