The S in a type means “Sensing”
Sensors focus on the present. They are “here and now” people. They are factual and process information through the five senses. They see things as they are because they are concrete and literal thinkers. They trust what is certain. Sensors value realism and common sense. They especially like ideas with practical applications.

I’m not afraid to admit I used to be one of those high and mighty N assholes that thought S types weren’t as complex, insightful, and deep. I definitely thought I was the better type, and wasn’t willing to look past four letters to see the person behind them. I am so sorry that I ever thought that. People get caught up in reading about the types, instead of ACTUALLY observing and talking to real human beings. Because that’s what we all are. We’re all humans, we come from different backgrounds, we all have different life perspectives, have been through different experiences. And everyone has personality that is unique to them. The types are only supposed to be a guide to the person, to help understand, to bring some clarity, not to lay out their entire personality in one blog post. I realized I was doing what people were doing to me, by thinking my type could only be one thing. I’m not really sure how to end this, besides saying that I hope we can all be more open minded. No type is better than another. The world needs all of us.
That thing DaveSuperPowers said about sensors annoying intuitives because they need to go through every little detail instead of just... knowing.
I keep thinking about it today. I've decided it's one of the things which most annoys me about my parents. I mean, seriously. They need to repeat and illustrate everything. The first time they say something it's fine, because I got the point and I could see the rest without much thinking but they need to say the rest of it although it's painfully obvious to me. By that I don't mean I see it right at that minute; I mean I could see it almost as soon as I started thinking about it, should I choose to.
DaveSuperPowers' analogy was this: you can tell an intuitive that the alphabet goes a to b, then p, x, z and they've got it; they see the pattern. With a sensor, you say a goes to b, and they say they've got it, b to c, they've got it. You assume they see the pattern and say c to j and then z and they'll tell you it's all wrong, because next it's c to d. Yes. We see that. The intuitives took that as obvious and jumped straight to j and z to illustrate that the pattern goes all the way through without pointing out everything.
