Alien X vs. Divinity - My Contribution
For anyone who's watched 5YL: The Motion Comic, Episode 13, which just released earlier today, this Hyperscan inspired entry amidst the rapid-fire collab pieces was mine!
Below is what I actually started with, just a very crude mockup using UI from the game, awkwardly posed stock art of Alien X and Divinity, and an edited background from the Original Series episode Perfect Day.
Then to mask the edit, I ran it through some Photomosh effects. This did unfortunately leave a watermark, so I had to come up with a... creative solution. So I made a sneaky Youtube upload of the glitched version.
Then it was just a matter of casting the video to the TV, digging out a Hyperscan controller, framing it right, aaaand...
Bam, Alien X and Divinity invading the Hyperscan game. A fitting deep cut sort of thing for the Lost and Found owner, eh?
I'm incredibly honored to have had a small part in all of this, not even just this collab but for my small contributions to the sound design as well.
Watching 5YL grow into this crazy thing has been honestly a real highlight to being in the fandom the last several years. And with the comic seemingly on the verge of an ending, one can't help but wonder - what do the Ink Tank have in store next? I suppose only time will tell.
