On Tuesday, March 6, 2023 in #BJUChapel, Steve Pettit was explaining to the student body about the conflict between Pelagius and Augustine. And in a Gnostic-ish moment, in explaining that spiritual love is not the same as "natural love," Pettit stated (11:57):
This is not what Taylor Swift sings about, you know? "Love Story."
It's a fairly standard, albeit fundamentalist and sectarian, point.
But the students were tickled. Really tickled.
They went on to tease that maybe Swift would come to Artist Series! After all, Disney is good now at the New and Improved Bob Jones University!
Chief of Staff and Friend of the Archive, Randy Page had to say something:
Killjoy.
That's what he told The State yesterday:
"Ellen Weaver has completed all the academic requirements for the Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Bob Jones University,” Page said in a statement Tuesday afternoon. “Weaver’s diploma will be presented on Friday, December 16, 2022, but she has completed all requirements and earned her Master of Science degree.”
This screen shot is kicking around as well:
Must be nice to have monied supporters giving you your degree so that you can run the public schools in your state into the ground.
So charming, BJU. Such a good testimony.
You gotta sit down for this one.
The Council for National Policy is the super-duper secret organization that Tim LaHaye started to influence all things political.
Welll.... it's not just LaHaye. You can read about it here.
And keep reading.
Bob Jones III was a former member (in the 1990s).
But look who was a member as of September 2020.
Your friend and mine, Randy Page.
So when the Ron DeSantis campaign folded, Friend of the Archive Randy Page had to get a new job. Patch the Pirate's son-in-law took good care of him, so don't worry.

Among the crowd that is sad that the Board doesn't like Steve Pettit is, of course, Randy Page and Jim Berg. The day before WutBJU announced this information about Steve Pettit's contract renewal (10/17/2022) Randy Page is indicating that he knows about it (10/16/2022) in a pretty obvious way.
BJU is bragging that their Class of 2026 has 720 members.
It's a lie.
They gave the exact same number (with the same exact news release template) last year. The year before that the number was 700. Which is exactly the same as the year before that.
"Begins"! "Starts"! "Kicks off"!
They need to change the headline:
Look at the graph up above. As the reported numbers nudge downward, the branding numbers are nudging upward.
You're lying, BJU. You're actually lying.
Oooo! Did you cover paying graduates to create hate blogs for critics? How about designing spoof twitter feeds to get people fired? How about calling other local universities and threatening them to stop media coverage since they are "operating at [BJU's] mercy"? Did you cover all that too?
