im gonna start eating gazelle meats + camel millk and wandering
The other day I ordered rose jam, strawberry jam without gelatin, and sea-salt peanut butter from an online shop. They arrived two days ago, and of course I had to try them right away on toasted bread. The rose jam had such an intense, fragrant aroma, and paired with the peanut butter it was surprisingly good. Still, I felt it would taste even better with a hint of tartness to balance the sweetness.
So the next day, I swapped the peanut butter for plain yogurt on my toast. The flavor instantly became lighter, with a gentle tang cutting through the sweetness, and it was honestly so good. It made me want to buy more to bring back for my family and relatives. But since this trip I booked my flight home to Thailand without extra baggage, Iāll have to wait until next time when I can bring a heavier suitcase and share these treats with everyone at home.
Today's polish is a gorgeous glowy red! š It had an absolutely incredible formula. My pictures show it in two coats, but it was completely opaque in one coat. It reminded me a lot of Lady of Flame but that polish leans more orange and this one leans more pink. Very close, but not quite dupes. They both have that coke can kind of slightly metallic/slightly pearlescent finish. This was also part of a mystery trio. I normally don't get mystery polishes, but I'm glad I made an exception, because the whole trio is gorgeous. Looking forward to showing you all the other two. š This is Rose Jam from Potion Polish.

Vegan Middle Eastern Style Muhallebi (Milk Pudding with Rose Syrup)
I made a whole post about making Kohakutou crystals butā¦it seems not to exist so I guess I didnāt click post? I swear I did though?!
anyway for the record, this yearās brithday experiment was some rose jam flavoured rocks, and I succeeded
the agar agar I was able t find was from indonesia and only had 7g in the packet, so I halved the recipe that I had
7g agar agar
196g water
340g sugar
I steeped the hot water in dried rose petals before straining to use, and I included some lemon juice in the liquid amount.
then I added some rosewater, orange blossom water and lemon oleo saccharum afterwards, along with the colouring and some metallic coloured sugar to make it a little glittery
the dried flowers floated to the top, and the coloured sugar that didnāt dissolve sunk to the bottom, forming a bit of a crust, which makes it look a bit more rocky when it goes right
it was ready to tear up within an hour or two rather than the four hours I was led to expect. perhaps it was the smaller amount
I did a range of sizes for science
you can see the colour getting darker and the flavour matured beautifully as well
obligatory asmr, for the cronch test on day 4
what a weirdo
