Explaining tumblr to anyone
Today's manicure is my first Pride mani of June and I am SO HAPPY with how this one turned out! β€οΈπ§‘ππππ I bought this collection of neon jellies the second they released and just got them in the mail this morning. I knew I wanted to do a lazy gradient with a white stamped design between they layers of jelly and this turned out exactly as I had pictured it in my mind. These jellies are INCREDIBLE. The color payoff in two coats is bananas and they blended perfectly where they overlapped in the middle of each nail. I know I will be grabbing these again and again for nail art. In case anyone was curious, the bottom two pictures are in process shots: on the left it's the jellies by themselves in one coat and on the right it's the stamped design before applying the second layer of jellies. This is Watermelon Sugar Jelly, Lava Jelly, Sunshine Jelly, Acid Jelly, Blue Hawaiian Jelly, and Grape Jelly from Cirque Colors with Not Miky White from Holo Taco.
Today's polish is another bright base with a topper cause the hot weather demands fun nails! π€©π₯΅ Several swatchers I follow raved about this yellow jelly polish so I knew I had to get it and it did not disappoint. In spite of being a sheer formula AND a yellow, it had incredible color payoff. I have it on in two coats here. π± I had a feeling it would be fun to wear it with this Pride inspired topper and I think I was right! It has holo microglitter, holo lightning glitter, blue heart glitter, and circle glitters in various colors and sizes. This is Rainbow Voltage from Zombie Claw over Catch Those Rays from Cracked Polish.

Today's manicure is a neon skittle cause I couldn't decide on one neon to wear next. π The neons are all the polishes that I purchased from this year's Vice Collection, which is the yearly release of neon creme polishes this maker is well known for. The formula on these is incredible. They were all opaque in two coats. And because I can never leave well enough alone I had to throw a topper on it. I really liked this topper's mix of small iridescent hex glitters and larger pastel hex glitters. And one coat of top coat smoothed these out. From thumb to pinky this is Thirsty, Doomscroll, Lean, Road Rage, and Superfreak from Cirque topped with Picnic Party Taco from Holo Taco.
Today's polish is the first neon of 2026! π§‘π€©π₯³ This one has a neon orange base with a gold to orange shifting shimmer and was inspired by the Reece's peanut butter cup wrapper. As always with neons, getting color accurate photos was a challenge. I would say the last picture is probably the closest to how it looked irl. It had a thick, slightly chalky formula, and even after three coats there was the slightest touch of visible nail line, all of which are pretty standard for neon polishes too. This maker is new to me and I definitely like this one enough to try more from them. This is No Wrong Way from Prisim Parade.
Today's polish was, let's be honest, purchased solely for the name. But I like it so it's ok! π It has a pink jelly base with pink to red shifting iridescent flakes, holo flakes, pink metallic micro shimmer, and red to gold shifting metallic flakes. The gold shift against the pink base looked absolutely incredible in the shade, and in the sun it was very twinkly. I thought the contrast of the metallic flakes looked really cool too. It was going in my cart no matter what though. π This is Glittoris from Pahlish.
Writing tips:
βYou feel the bulge in his pantsβ - implies that you are feeling some guyβs penis, may be sexy depending on context
βYou feel the bugle in his pantsβ - implies that this guy has a military horn in his pants, invites confusing questions like why does he have that and how big are his pockets
Both options convey that he's horny
How dare you be funnier than me on my own post

Today's polish went from a C tier indoors to an A tier in the sun and I think you can probably see why. ππ€© It has a lavender jelly base with regular holo glitter and square holo glitter. I'd been wanting to try a polish from this collection for a while, because I was intrigued by the square glitter, but the pastel colors weren't tempting me. I finally picked up this one during their last sale and I'm so glad I did cause it's maybe got the sparkliest formula I've seen from this maker. Indoors I wasn't loving it. It was thick and patchy even after three coats. I was almost ready to destash it until I went outside. π±π€© Yeah the sparkle is off the charts. Now I want more of these. I think they'd be fun to wear as a skittle. π This is Lo-fi Lavender from Holo Taco.
Today's polish has one of my favorite finishes: a creme with a complementary shimmer. It has a slate blue base with a bright blue shimmer and was opaque in two coats. Indoors the base color looked more grey, but in the sun with the shimmer sparkling it looked way more blue. This is Misery is my Favorite Color from Mooncat.
Today's polish is unlike any other magnetic polish I own. π It has a green to gold to orange shifting pastel multichrome base with a blue magnetic shimmer. The shift in the base color was really hard to capture on camera but you can see it best in the top right picture. I'm used to the magnetic pigment shifting not the base. So having that reversed here, as well as the combination of colors, made this one feel so unique. This is I Will Change Your Destiny from Bee's Knees Lacquer.
Butterfly Party 2026
The chance to make an anti-fascist butterfly? I am in.
I made this at a modern art gallery with old cardboard and off cuts of tissue paper. It was great fun. My 26 yo daughter also made one.

Oops! My finger slipped and I made another one @julcheninred! This one was loosely inspired by Gustav Klimt. If you want to annoy a fascist too, please make and post the most colorful and outlandish butterfly art you can come up with! π¦

A "vulgar," "nefarious," "Marxist" butterfly collage in the style of Eric Carle for my dear @julcheninred.
[using art by Chagall, O'Keefe, Pollock, Kandinsky, Mondrian, Klimt, and Rothko]
Carle's picture books were a staple in our home when my kids were little, and I recently had the pleasure of gifting a couple of them to my newborn niece. Carle's art is timeless, beautiful, and distinctive (no matter what wannabe fascists think).
