Do you know if there's any specific reason for it? Or is it just random/aesthetic?
Umm... TBH I'm not really sure. I think these are just variants of writing. Just like we have these two variants of a and g in the Roman alphabet:
Or how my Hindi teacher always told me to write to write क्त, न्न and श्च this way:
গু শু and হু do look more aesthetically pleasing and are probably the original way of writing these letters... although, I think the later are much easier to handwrite.
(also the first set has উ কার while the second has ঊ)
