#rollator

it doesn't turn into a wheelchair ...... only a few rollators I've seen actually Do and they're all SO crazy expensive?!?! like $1000+ ..... i could nottttt ebeg for one of those, my hope is in the future i can get something like the rollz motion by prescription / through insurance or donation or sponsorship or something like that

ideally i would be using a wheelchair or even a power chair but my city is Not accessible, very uneven terrain + stairs everywhere, i need something i can lift over curbs, up steps, potholes etc. more lightweight than a wheelchair, and less likely to tip me out of it - hand brakes!

I was gifted a practically new rollator! I'm so excited about this, you don't even understand! Some days, my lack of mobility is simply too much to manage with a cane alone. Don't get me wrong, I adore my cane, and I'm so grateful to my best friend @twinpistolbutler every day that I use it. But this is an absolute game changer. I can do dishes! I can clean around my apartment! I can walk with far less fear of falling!

Mobility aids are important, valid, and if you need one (or even THINK you may benefit from using one), then use one.

I'm gonna paint mine when I get the chance! Any ideas? I'm thinking yellow, like those cute yellow bicycles with baskets.

Would you recommend someone who constantly slouches or leans forwards out of habit whose hips and knees tend to give out or buckle to look into getting a rollator / walkers or something else?

rollator decor ideas?

so i got a really nice free rollator, its got everything i need. but its this primary blue color which i dont hate, but i dont really love either. i think i am going to get some washi tape and make it mostly purple with some accent tape strips

i want to get a utility light, like basically a bike lamp. but i also saw someone mention battery operated string lights- i think that would look cool but im afraid id constantly be fucking w/ them since the rollator goes in and out of our backseat all the time. my partner already has to be extra careful about the cupholder and i dont wunna make it any more difficult for them

I reached out to a local organization for some mobility aides recently. I was able to schedule pickup for a rollator and shower chair next day for free which is cool as fuck, and I am on a waitlist for a free portable electric wheelchair/mobility scooter (currently debating if I take myself off that waitlist).

I am struggling with accepting that I need these things. Part of me feels guilty, like I am taking these resources away from someone who may need them more than I do. Especially since my rollator is super nice and came brand new with the tag still on. But getting the rollator has made such a massive improvement to my quality of life already. I got the rollator Sunday, and I've used it basically anytime I leave the house bc it's so helpful. Always having a seat with me is amazing, plus it can easily carry my drink/phone/bag so I don't get overwhelmed.
