Rare Portuguese TV magazine advertising “WHTRJ?” or as it’s known over there, “Jonas O Robo”
Freaking adorable things that RJ does that you may not have noticed:
- That little overbite thing he does with his "teeth". Like OML, he's literally even more of a scrunkly when he does that
- When he "blinks". Robot does this a lot throughout the entire series. He does it either when he's changing the direction he's looking in, like if he's staring straight ahead and he is about to look to the left, he'll "blink". He also "blinks" like a regular human would just naturally and without thinking about it
- The antenna in his light bulb changes shape based on his emotions. For example, if he's sad, it'll kind of droop down. If he's love struck, it'll form into the shape of a heart like it did in "Rules of Dating". Sometimes when he's panicking or in distress, it'll shoot up into a straight line. Usually if he's feeling like that, it doesn't really happen that often. This notably happens though in "Hookie 101" when Robot fears he'll be caught skipping school
- He has a little blep despite the fact that he's a robot and it's a little taboo but it's too cute to handle. It's not shown much but when it is, prepare for your heart to melt
- Throughout the show, whenever Robot is shown to be in sleep mode, his vocal slot is sometimes open like how a human will sleep with their mouth open. The most notable examples of this happening are in "Work" and the beginning of the pilot episode
- In "House Party", it's revealed his middle name is "Electro". Now how adorable is that?!
- When he taps his claw on his face whenever he's curious or thinking about something

Various images from Instagram and Google of the notorious “WHTRJ?” VHS Tapes. There were two tapes made as far as I could find out (one had “Growth Spurts” on it and the other one had “Sickness”) to promote the show when it first came out in 2002. Both tapes are uncut, unedited, and logo-less and feature the original text-to-speech voice. These are very rare and hard to come across as there were only a few ever made.
Robot Jones cel set-up from the “Hookie 101″. This cel includes multiple layers, including the final sketch from the same scene in blue colored pencil which is what is used a lot for final sketches in traditional animation. It also the camera angles in regular pencil too. No other cels have been sold with the matching sketches so this was definitely a rarity!
In Season 3, Episode 11a of “Dexter’s Laboratory”, titled “Oh, Brother”, Robot Jones from “Whatever Happened to... Robot Jones?”, makes a cameo as a toy on top of Dexter’s dresser. This episode first aired on July 5th, 2002, just 14 days before “Robot Jones” premiered. Greg Miller was also a storyboard artist on the episode and this episode was most likely in production while Greg’s show was just getting the green light.
