HOSPITALITY AS A SACRED VALUE IN THE RIG VEDA
There is a hymn in the Rig Veda that academic commentators rarely cite. It is not addressed to Indra, or Agni, or Soma. It is addressed to generosity itself. This is hymn 10.117 — To Generosity — and it says, without metaphor, what the civilization of the 7 Rivers thought about giving and hospitality. 1 – Truly, the gods have not given hunger as a killing anger — even the well-fed eventually…
ALPHA AND OMEGA OF THE RIG VEDA: AGNI AND UNION
The first hymn and the last: a message no one has yet deciphered Introduction The Rig Veda opens with a hymn to Agni. It closes with a hymn to Agni. This is not coincidence. Between these two hymns: 1,028 chants, ten mandalas, two millennia of Vedic civilization. But anyone who knows how to read understands that the first verse and the last respond to each other like the two ends of an arch.…

For those living in the Northern Hemisphere ::
Summer teaches a quiet lesson about vitality :: to burn bright sustainably, one tends the fire rather than feeds it everything at once. The agni within — one's digestive fire, in the broadest sense — transforms not only food, for it metabolizes experience, insigh, and energy too! Overwhelm one's agni and even nourishment becomes hard to digest.
There's a wisdom in pacing that the awakening Self often resists, for the opening feels urgent and the light feels endless. Yet the body keeps its own rhythm, and honoring it isn't a betrayal of the path; it's the path becoming embodied. Radiance that lasts is radiance that rests.
One might let this be the season's practice :: living fully & wisely, trusting that the light one carries needs tending, not exhausting.
