✨️🇵🇭 Introducing the new Philippine Folklore & Mythology Series!
While I've posted folklore and myths from the Philippines countless times here and there, I'll be doing these as a series. These myths are ones you often don't hear about. Folklore where there are no artwork for. Stories that need to be shared and passed down.
✨️ Today we are looking at another myth from Rizal Province, particularly from Pasig, which was once a part of Rizal.
It involves two Tagalog deities, Alapaap, a sky goddess, and Araw, the sun deity. The story discusses the first rain on earth and the first plants.
The source of this tale comes from an old hand typed paper written in 1915. See the last side for more info.
☁️➡️ What are your thoughts on this myth? Excited to learn about this new Tagalog goddess?
