"Placido, I want to go stargazing."
Placido turned to face Juanito. He looked out at the window of living room past Juanito's head. It was dark outside as it has been around an hour after the sun had set, causing the city's glimmering window lights to shine.
He didn't know what to say with the air hanging like he had more to confess. He waited.
"It's just..." Juanito trailed off, lifting the remote to stop the show they were watching. "People used to be able to go out of their homes and see the stars after just looking up. Now, we don't see anything at all! Maybe one or two stars but you barely see anything at all!" He waved and gestured to the sky for emphasis as he ranted.
"That's cause we have light pollution, clouds, and smog now too." Placido listed quickly.
"It's theft!" Juanito tossed his hands in an exasperated give-up way.
Placido sighed. "Yeah, it kinda is." He leaned back onto the couch cushion he was sitting on.
"Annoying," Juanito grumbled.
"Annoying." Placido nodded in agreement.
