Summary: Trina pleads her case in the Shadow Lands, and Messmer learns things about his mother’s golden kingdom he’d rather not know. Generally canon-compliant, with excessive worldbuilding for the DLC during the crusade era. The shipping subplot remains for the lovers of the liege/knight dynamic, but gets a little messy. 

You are just like our Mother. You take what yields to you. You surround yourself with subordinates whose devotion goes beyond duty. Then you make them scrabble to serve you, for a shred of your love, as if it is limited. As if you have so little to give they must jostle for the privilege of it. You want them to cede to you, like you always ceded to Mother. Because if they do not, you will kill them.
