Here's the beginning (as it is planned for now) of Peter Pan:
[Bruce bit his lower lip to force himself to hold back a sob.
Mother blamed him for crying, alone in his too big, too comfy bed in his huge room.
Nightmares are for little kids. For weak people. For inferior beings. His parents repeated words like these every time their eleven-year-old son whines on the morning, eyes red and puffy, saying he had nightmares and was afraid. Again.
But... he couldn't help it. It was not his fault. He did his best to keep the ghosts at bay, yet they always returned to haunt him.
"I miss you so much, Alfred..." The little boy whispered in the darkness of the room in which he felt like a... stranger even though it's his for years.
Forcing the new tears to stay put, Bruce exited the false cover of the blankets that made him feel... alien in his own skin. He didn't want to feel safe in a nest, didn't want to cuddle under sheets and blankets. He wanted to stay cold. Cold, sad and empty as he feels for the past months every since... Gotham murdered his butler in front of him. The town ripped away the only person who always loved and cared for him... and ever since, little Bruce suffers violent nightmares.
The child shivered when his bare feet connected with the wooden floor. He wanted to... go out. He needs fresh air, no matter how cold, before he suffocates.
Bruce opened the large bay window leading to a private balcony accessible from his bedroom. He breathed in and out the cool air that invaded his lungs and dried his wet cheeks like a ghostly hand, loving but frigid, that strokes his hair and cleans his face.
It took the boy a handful of minutes to realize... there was someone out there, playing in the garden. Someone watching him.]
Aka: this is a Peter Pan AU starring Edward as Peter Pan, Selina as Tinkerbell, Bruce as the random child who bonds with them and travels to Neverland... where he meets the Batkids (= the lost boys and girls) plus everything else in this brave new world ;)
