Rigga

Does your character have siblings or family members in their age group? Which one are they closest with?    Rigga is the third-youngest of eight children. She has had little contact with them since she became a student of the Iron Temple. 

What is/was your character’s relationship with their mother like?    Rigga’s mother was a martial artist before her knees gave out on her; she was the most supportive of her decision to seek deciplehood at the Iron Temple.

What is/was your character’s relationship with their father like?    Her father was a chonic worrier; He fought in the war against Einhardt, and he knows better than most how awuful fighting can be. On the other hand, he always referred to Rigga as “his Little Dragon,” and knew that farm life was never going to be her fate. If his little dragon wants to be a fighter, then gods damn it, he was gonna let her be a fighter, even if he was going to worry about her.

Has your character ever witnessed something that fundamentally changed them? If so, does anyone else know?    When Rigga first began training among the multitudes of want-to-be apprentices at the Iron Temple, she had a very brief moment of clarity and enlightenment, of true inner peace, of true oneness with the universe. The temple sages sensed and recognized what had occurred immediately, and removed her from those classes to truly teach her, in the true manner none of those other students would be, the secrets of the ten thousand forms of The Iron Sage.    She has spent the rest of her life seeking that moment of clarity again.

On an average day, what can be found in your character’s pockets?    Rigga’s robes don’t really allow for pockets. She does, however, wear several belt pouches. Most of them contain rations or water-skins, although one contains a locket with a memento of her girlfriend, as well as the key to the bronze training weights she wears on her arms and legs at all times.

Does your character have recurring themes in their dreams?    She sees a warrior facing off with a god in the land of the dead, armed with the wisdom of truly great warriors long dead, her mind, body, and soul ablaze with the fires of ten thousand forges.

Does your character have recurring themes in their nightmares?    She sees a black wave crashing over the world, an evil thought killed stands at its heart, and four stand where all others have fallen, there at the end of days.

Has your character ever fired a gun? If so, what was their first target?    Guns do not exist in Jara.

Is your character’s current socioeconomic status different than it was when they were growing up?    When she was growing up, Rigga was technically an upper-lower class farmer.    Now, however, her socioeconomic status is not so clear. While technically homeless, she has several thousand in gold coins squirreled away in a Veldstradi Bank as well as a standing invitation to stay at the imperial palace in the Veldstradi Empire whenever she wants to; a benefit of gaining the emperor Veldstrad as a patron.

Does your character feel more comfortable with more clothing, or with less clothing?     The real answer is less restrictive clothing. Rigga typically wears sleeveless robes and baggy, gusseted pants with a large red sash and a rope belt, as well as large, bronze weights on her wrists and lower legs. She typically goes barefoot.

In what situation was your character the most afraid they’ve ever been?     When she died and woke up in the underworld certainly counts.

In what situation was your character the most calm they’ve ever been?      Two moments: One was the aforementioned momentary ascension, and the second was when she once again ascended in that manner to defeat the demigod preventing her from leaving the underworld.

Is your character bothered by the sight of blood? If so, in what way?      No.

Does your character remember names or faces easier?      Names.

Is your character preoccupied with money or material possession? Why or why not?      No; her philosophy teaches against the trappings of wealth.

Rama

Does your character have siblings or family members in their age group? Which one are they closest with?   Rama’s family was killed decades ago with the rest of his village. Rama himself was saved from his attackers by a team of passing City Paladins as well as his own newly awakened Paladin powers.

What is/was your character’s relationship with their mother like?   Rama’s mother was kind; she taught him that he needed to protect the people he cared about.

What is/was your character’s relationship with their father like?   Rama learned from his father that the silent god gave him a large body to use it to protect others weaker than him. This is a belief he carries with him to this day.

Has your character ever witnessed something that fundamentally changed them? If so, does anyone else know?   Rama first awakened his Paladin powers when his village was attacked by Turaki marauders. The aliens destroyed his home and most everyone he had ever known, and his powers first manifested after his body reconstituted itself from vaporization and then subsequently became much stronger than it should have been by any point of reason.

On an average day, what can be found in your character’s pockets?    Bullets, knife, ration bars, drinks.

Does your character have recurring themes in their dreams?Rama has not dreamed since awakening his Paladin powers.

Has your character ever fired a gun? If so, what was their first target?     He fires a gun every day as part of his role as Paladin. His first target was a Turaki marauder.

Is your character’s current socioeconomic status different than it was when they were growing up?      As a city Paladin, and thus one of humanities elite protectors, Rama’s mundane expenses (food, utilities, cable, ect) are largely speaking subsidized by the government. That said, Rama does, in fact, posses quite a large amount of currency for use with the various Paladin quartermasters and specialist support staff.

Does your character feel more comfortable with more clothing, or with less clothing?     Rama spends almost his entire life in his armor at this point; covered almost head to toe in thick plasteel plating.

In what situation was your character the most afraid they’ve ever been?     In the moment right before he got his powers, when death “failed to stick” for the first time.

In what situation was your character the most calm they’ve ever been?     During his daily nap/meditation time.
