Dani rolls her eyes at having to stop taking care of camp, but is secretly flattered someone asked about her. 😌
44: What is their favourite season? Type of weather? Are they good in the cold or the heat? What weather do they complain in the most?
Her favorite season to live in is summer. Her favorite season to experience, because she thinks it's pretty, is fall. All the colors? Yeah, girlie has eyes and appreciates what she sees. 😌
Her favorite type of weather is clear skies because she has shit to do and lives outside. But she really likes heavy rainfall and the pitter-patter against any surface.
I don't think she likes the dead heat of summer, but she'll take that over the biting cold of winter... unless she has someone she can share her body heat with.
She complains all the time for different reasons. x) But you'll probably hear her complain the most during winter, despite her liking the concept of snow.
45: How do other people see them? Is it similar to how they see themselves?
That depends on who we're talking about. 👀
We're talking about a Mexican woman wearing pants in the 1890s. Random strangers would have rather disgusting views about her. Prostitute, someone sexually available to them; something worse or better, depending on your viewpoint. It's sad, but it was real. They do tend to leave her alone when she pulls a knife and presses the tip against, uh... any crown jewels belonging to a man unwilling to leave her the fuck alone. Or when she smacks women for being equally rude to her; she doesn't discriminate or give a fuck.
Her crew sees her as authority who keeps her promises and gets things done. They also see someone who doesn't ask for help when she clearly needs it. I'm sure they're also entertained when someone crosses a line and she smacks them.
Dani sees herself as someone who can never take five minutes to sit down or ask for help because if she does... someone might call her unfit to lead because she is a Mexican woman leading a gang of outlaws in the 1890s. There's a tremendous amount of pressure on her shoulders, despite her gang already trusting, accepting, and believing in her leadership. She learned a long time ago that acting proper gets her nowhere, so she might as well do what she wants--the harassment doesn't get worse when she doesn't.

22: What are their favourite insults to use? What do they insult people for? Or do they prefer to bitch behind someone’s back?
We've heard about her insulting people off-page, and she does it subtly. Her potential suitors? She insults them by... how do I say this? Prove she's better than them. And she's not doing it for sport, she genuinely doesn't want to get married.
She rarely insults people directly. She won't do it in the first story. She won't really insult Cullen in the second and third story to his face either, apart from pointing out the obvious superficial stuff (stiff, stuck up, keeps bringing up the past).
Does she bitch behind someone's back?
Fuck yes. x)
As the guilty pleasure suggests, she's a bit of a gossip. That extends to shit-talking. But it's not her talking shit because she's putting people down on purpose, it's more "did you see that? did you see how he brought that up again? Maker, what a fucking cunt" while Varric grins and agrees to keep her talking. Call it a venting session, if you will. She stays in control of herself in front of whomever and then decompresses with her bestie.
29: What do they do when they find out someone else’s fear? Do they tease them? Or get very over protective?
I've answered this, but I'll just paste the answer below:
She's very supportive of other people and their fears, offering whatever they might need. She doesn't joke about it because she's experienced that and hates it.
35: What’s their guilty pleasure? What is their totally unguilty pleasure?
Also answered this, and I'll say again that I find this question so hard to answer. x)
I know it's about bags again, but I'm super curious to see if what they're carrying around is different to what they think they should be carrying. :D
Ooooh, plot twist. 👀👀👀
49: What is their most valued object? Are they sentimental? Is there something they have to take everywhere with them?
Marika: Until The Thing™️ happens in Anchor, it's her omni-tool. It contains a recording of Vitorius' last words spoken. She's a little sentimental, but it's not something she HAS to take everywhere with her.
Yeehaw-Dani: Yeah, I'm really unsure about this. I think she's lost things so much that sentiment can't exist... but then she's on a massive revenge quest, so maybe yes. I like the idea of her having a lucky something.
Sci-fi Dani: It sounds so dumb because it's kind of an object but also not. Her piercings and tattoos. She ties that to her identity, which Cerberus wiped after rebuilding her. One of the first things she did after being resurrected, was get a lot of them back in one sitting, pain level be damned.
Vitorius: A Schimitar (shotgun) named Cutie. He doesn't bring it with him. It hangs on the wall in his room. Marika gave it to him. And yes, I'd call him sentimental.
Bee: Spoilers for the next story: a pendant. Varric has its twin. What it does will be explored in the next story.
50: If they could only take one bag of stuff somewhere with them: what would they pack? What do they consider their essentials?
One bag of stuff. One kind of stuff, or one bag and we pack it with something? I'm assuming it's the latter. 👀
Marika: Underwear, socks, heat sinks, her knife. Omni-tool probably does the rest and it's attached to her person. What else? A journal and a pen, I think. No, a datapad and a pen she can use to draw or write.
Yeehaw-Dani: Bullets, knife, socks, drawers, clean cloth, cigarettes, cards, journal, pen... can you tell I don't pack a lot of bags yet? x) Bedroll, small tent... I'm cheating a bit since she has the advantage of packing shit on her horse... weapons, fishing pole, rope... probably 1000 things I've forgotten. The point is: she'd be PREPARED.
Sci-fi Dani: Miss Chaos would forget half of any essential items. She'd pack random things like a condom or three, nail polish, a sandwich, one sock, and things I can't really disclose without ruining the plot twist of her story.
Vitorius: Oh god. He'd be prepared for anything. I'm thinking we copy+paste Marika's answer, but add rations so he doesn't starve, since he can't cook to save his life.
Bee: Aww, baby Bee. Until she learns what's needed to survive, I think she'd think "as long as I have money, I'll be okay". And she'd be right for the most part... until money runs out or someone robs her blind. But I do think she'd have a map so she knows where she's going. Whether she can read it or not... is part of the adventure, I guess? 😅
This first question did more than I ever thought it would. 💀 You have been warned.
1: What’s their full name? Why was that chosen? Does it mean anything?
I'm a big fan of names with meanings, but not all of these have been planned very hard like that. I also haven't given anyone any middle names apart from Marisol. I'll add her in the first answer because she was named very specifically.
Ah, fuck it. I wanna do my book characters too. Sorry toboe-roll! You got the long answer here. 🥹
Marika: Marika Shepard. God, this woman has had a lot of names, but Marika is the one I feel most happy with. She isn't named after the queen in Elden Ring. It's actually pronounced differently in Norwegian than it is in English, though both roll off the tongue really nicely. Marika means bitterness and of the sea, which fit so nicely. She's had a hard life and I guess she is of the (galax)sea.
Daniela (yeehaw and sci-fi): Okay, figuring out her name was fun. I was looking at a list, saw this name, and my brain just went: Daniela. Yeah, but she goes by Dani because when anyone uses her full name, she cringes like she's being yelled at by her mom. Backstory just came to me with that one. It also means God is my judge which... yeah, fitting. 💀
Marisol: Marisol Alejandra Delgado Cruz. She's named after her father (Alejandro Delgado). Marisol is something like Mary of the Sun, sea and sun; different meanings depending on your poetic interpretation, but it fits where she's from (Miami). Cruz is her mother's surname.
Vitorius: God, I spent an unreasonable amount of time figuring his name out. I looked at Roman names. Didn't find it there, I think I found something similar to it, butchered it just enough, and now it sounds like "victorious". Slightly grandiose, which feels appropriately primarch's son-adjacent.
Bee: I'll preface this by saying I have NOTHING against the name Beatrice. It means blessed one, bringer of happiness, or voyager, which fits really well. Mostly, I picked it because it sounds really fucking fancy in my ears. Another grandiose choice by an important and wealthy family. She goes by Bee once the nickname is given to her. That's her name.
Erica Sloane: Has Norse roots--ayo. It means eternal rules, ever-powerful, or sole ruler. I chose it because it fits and also because I really like the name Erica. Her surname means raider, warrior, or mobilizer, which fits what she does for a living really well.
Dominic Hawthorne: When I chose his name, I was looking for something that sounded... stern. Authoritative. Dominic (especially when Erica says it) sounds like a command. This name was not chosen for its meaning (lordly). It was chosen for the way it feels. Hawthorne means something like "lives near a hawhtorne bush". I 100% name generated it, and it was the one I liked the most.
Talia Hawthorne: Talia is really simple: it's one of my personal favorite names. 🙈 It means "dew of God" and it's so damn pretty, UGH. She's also the story's sunshine, so you know. It fits. I love this name so much. The religious aspect of it fits really well--I do suspect her mom especially was more religious than Dominic.
Noah Hawthorne: Noah means rest, comfort. Chosen more for the semi-religious aspect again. It's a pretty name. I like it a lot.
Vanessa Everly: Her name was chosen because it sounds semi-angelic in my ear... and Vanessa is anything but.
Julian Valmont: Oh god. We'll see how short I can keep this. Valmont sounds expensive, which fits Julian's backstory really well. It has French roots and means "valley by the hill", and the French aspect is 100% why it was also chosen--I imagine his family being one of those where their grandpappy's grandpappy immigrated from France so now they have to act like they're French. Julian was chosen because I really like this name, and it works well in English and French. It means youthful, and my favorite chaos goblin bisexual disaster of all time definitely gives off that vibe. His name sounds fucking expensive in your mouth.
SORRY. 😭😭😭 I know this is a fanfic blog, but I just couldn't help myself.
26: How do they act when they’re happy? Do they sing? Dance? Hum? Or do they hide their emotions?
Marika: Oh, she definitely sings and hums (really well), but in her cabin. Out on the deck, she might walk a little lighter.
Yeehaw-Dani: She hides when she's happy and acts like something's wrong with her. That's different to her from having fun.
Sci-fi Dani: She smiles and shows it, but doesn't necessarily sing. She might dance. Hell, James might dance with her.
Vitorius: He's generally a happy, well-regulated guy and doesn't hide it. If he's extremely happy, he will hum.
Bee: She's the one who hides her emotions the least. A ray of goddamn sunshine this one. She radiates, beams, grins, bounces on her feet.
6: What were they like at school? Did they enjoy it? Did they finish? What level of higher education did they reach? What subjects did they enjoy? Which did they hate?
Marika: She was competitive in school and enjoyed it. She didn't finish--the gang life got her first. She essentially got her GED and stopped there because the Alliance life got her next. In school, she liked creative subjects, like idk... English or Norwegian where there were writing assignments, if that makes sense. She disliked things with very strict rules, like math.
Yeehaw-Dani: This is where I have to admit I'm not sure what school looked like in the 1890s. Dani grew up piss poor too, so I'm guessing she helped at home or worked more than she went to school. She'd be the case where she WANTED to go to school and really loved every subject, but probably couldn't go as much as she wanted to.
Sci-fi Dani: I think she was a problem at school. Just enough effort to not fail, probably smarter than people realized. I don't think she enjoyed it. She was probably one of those who thinks "why do I need algebra when I got a calculator". She didn't like math. She probably liked P.E.
Vitorius: Your standard honor roll student. x) Possibly the valedictorian. So his education was done through the military. He's a doctor, medic, Captain (in my AU); he has something to fall back on if he ever wants to not be in active duty, but then turian society as a whole is militaristic, so I don't know where the line is. He enjoyed science-based subjects, like math and biology (especially). He disliked anything creative, but then I also don't think turian school focuses on extremely creative things. Either that or the bar is quite low.
Bee: I don't think she went to school. I think she had private tutors because House Trevelyan has money and therefore Bee got the best of the best. I haven't imagined what Dragon Age school looks like, but I already know she was the most bored rehearsing the Canticle of Light. I think history would've been her favorite subject.
23: Do they have a good memory? Short term or long term? Are they good with names? Or faces?
Marika: Decent memory overall, and I can see it being even better after Cerberus upgraded her to the Shepard 2.0 model. Good with names before faces, but also not bad at faces.
Yeehaw-Dani: Yes, but it's also very colored by her own experience. Subjective, and I think she struggles to keep things objective at times. She's good with names AND faces.
Sci-fi Dani: She has a good memory, but will archive a lot of things she doesn't deem important and keep the feeling of it instead. She's better with faces.
Vitorius: He does, and I think it helps that he does a lot of puzzles. He basically trains his brain to be better at remembering shit. Better with names, quite terrible with faces.
Bee: Excellent memory, most likely because she was tutored and taught how to memorize things efficiently. Very good with names. Decent with faces.
29: What do they do when they find out someone else’s fear? Do they tease them? Or get very over protective?
Marika: Well... 😅 Depends on who we're talking about. If it's someone she dislikes, she weaponizes it. If it's someone she likes, she might tease them a bit, but not torment them. If it's someone she loves, she does the same, but protects them to the best of her abilities.
Yeehaw-Dani: She definitely weaponizes it and might test them with it later, depending on what it is. Some fear is good because it'll keep you alive. Too much will hold you back; that's her line of thinking. If she's really close with you, she'll keep it her secret.
Sci-fi Dani: She has a lot of fears in the bigger planned story, so she's not really someone to talk. She'll keep people safe if it's serious.
Vitorius: The ultra good boy gets protective if it's a big fear. Might help you confront it if it's a small fear, all while holding your hand.
Bee: She's very supportive of other people and their fears, offering whatever they might need. She doesn't joke about it because she's experienced that and hates it.

15, 25, and 35 for whoever you want or everyone 😈💕
Love the theme of fives happening here. 😭😭❤️
15: Are they good at cooking? Do they enjoy it? What do others think of their cooking?
Marika: She's good, but a bit boring; same repeat meals because she's Commander Goddamn Shepard and doesn't have much time for anything other than meal prep. However, she does have a fascination with cooking turian food and is getting good at it. She does enjoy it, and others subjected to her cooking will either say "...taco salad again?" or "damn, that's delicious".
Yeehaw-Dani: Joker is the camp's cook, but Dani will cook for camp when the mood strikes. Mostly Mexican food whenever she gets her hands on the correct spices or ingredients. She enjoys it in small amounts, and people--especially James--loves her cooking.
Sci-fi Dani: I think she's okay at cooking. She survives and the food doesn't taste terrible, but it's also not spectacular. Food is fuel for her, but she will sit down and enjoy it if she can--she just doesn't wanna cook like that. I think that shows too. Her partner usually ends up cooking.
Vitorius: Naaah, poor Vito can't cook to save his own life. He never learned from his parents and despite "Uncle Castis'" efforts, he just doesn't get it. It's something he isn't proud of because any grown person should be able to sustain themselves, but it genuinely confuses him.
Bee: I don't think so, no. She wasn't unwilling to learn, she just grew up rich in a medieval fantasy setting. House Trevelyan had staff for cooking. 😅
25: What do they find funny? Do they have a good sense of humour? Are they funny themselves?
Marika: Surprisingly enough, it's easy to make her laugh. Sarcasm is her go-to, flirty jokes, dad-jokes; there's a broad specter of what she finds funny. I think she's funny, but it's not elaborate humor. It's straightforward and direct. It stops being funny when she's using humor to mask her true feelings.
Yeehaw-Dani: Misery and torment? 😌 No, she actually doesn't find that funny. She loves messing with people. Her sense of humor is very Dani--ruthless, in your face, and with vivid imagery that makes you wonder if she's joking or not. Garrus doesn't find her particularly funny... in the beginning. She enjoys someone who meets her halfway and ping-pongs with her. She herself thinks she's hilarious. Whether other people agree depends on how well they know her. x)
Sci-fi Dani: I'd say anything bordering on flirty humor gets her. Provocative and bold. When someone isn't afraid to mess with her despite being Commander Shepard, she's engaged. She's a little funny. Not a jokester, but has the occasional one-liner.
Vitorius: Dry. Very dry. "Are you sure you're not a 40-year-old-father dry." He laughs easily and at most things. Sarcasm especially, because he grew up with Garrus.
Bee: Her sense of humor is very wholesome and borderline childish; calling her bow Sting because it probably stings to get hit by an arrow, for example. She's also very nineteen, so things other people say are funnier than they might be to an adult. Varric's quippy humor might strike her as hilarious and unexpected, for example, eliciting a full belly laugh instead of a smirk.
35: What’s their guilty pleasure? What is their totally unguilty pleasure?
I always find this question so unreasonably difficult to answer. x)
Marika: Fleet & Flotilla (but don't tell anyone I said that). Smutty romance novels of all kinds.
Yeehaw-Dani: Being taken care of. Spending time with Vela, on horseback or not.
Sci-fi Dani: Sappy romance movies (they ALWAYS make her cry). Working out.
