A fine review of LAS vegas’ debut album by Eric Therer in RifRaf magazine:
“Que ce soit au sein de Baby Fire ou avec von Stroheim, une constance anime Dominique Van Cappellen-Waldock, celle de l’attrait pour un rock sombre et dépouillé sur lequel elle dépose son chant désincarné et anxiogène. LAS vegas, son nouveau projet, la voit aux côtés du claviériste bruxellois Kris Engelen (Lost), de l’ingé son Raphaël Rastelli et du chanteur américain Eugene S. Robinson (Oxbow) avec qui elle partage ici les textes et le chant. Ce premier album éponyme aligne une neuvaine de morceaux drus, bâtis sur des riffs de guitare assez basiques et sur une rythmique carrée qui laisse peu de place à l’ornemental. Il y a dans ces agencements à la fois des réminiscences indécrottables des années 80 et la cogne implacable d’une production délestée de toute vision passéiste. Un rapport a priori paradoxal mais non contradictoire.“
