Let’s see how complicated I can makes this for myself! I’m gonna include my large ongoing project as well~

[1] How big a part does romance play in your novel?

Blessed Be She: While Raemina’s established relationship is existent in the story, I wouldn’t say the plot relies on it in any way.

Tiamat Chronicles Part One: Ehhh, it’s not a driving factor, not like it was in its first conception. At this point romancing is secondary, maybe even tertiary to some. There will definitely be hints of it, some more obvious than others.

Tiamat Chronicles Part Two: More than the first part. The relationship developed in this story is a big part of the main character’s growth as she steps into a role bigger than she feels she is.

Tiamat Chronicles Part Three: Of the four parts, this one probably has more obvious romantic machinations going on. This part does focus a lot on people’s relationships as they deal with the ongoing events.

Tiamat Chronicles Part Four: Romance has no driving force in this narrative. Whether or not I’ll sneak in a certain somebody is yet to be seen but overall, no, it has no place here.

[2] What is the nature of the romance in the story? Are there any tropes it follows? (Infatuation at first sight, enemies to lovers, best friends to lovers, etc?)

Blessed Be She: The Raevan ship is already established in the story but they do have the trope of infatuation at first sight. Overall it will essentialy flip the script of how they’re usually shown. Rae is often an anchor for Rhovan but in BBS it’s the other way around.

Tiamat Chronicles Part One: The nature of the romance is that it more-or-less sneaks up on them. It wouldn’t take much squinting to see the enemies to lovers trope lol

Tiamat Chronicles Part Two: The main character is someone who needs a lot of reassurance at first, and the romantic interest plays a part in that. Trope-wise it has the ‘realizing self-worth through the eyes of the lover’ one whatever that’s called. Plus the added ‘protector falling in love with who they’re protecting’.trope.

Tiamat Chronicles Part Three: Relationships are the biggest thing in this one. It has Friends to Lovers, Warrior/Healer, and there’s more i’m sure but those are the main ones.

Tiamat Chronicles Part Four: I don’t know how to answer this one when the main character doesn’t engage in any romance lol Lone Wolf Heroine i guess is the trope

[3] Why did you decide to pair specifically these two characters? What makes their relationship compelling?

Blessed Be She: Originally Rhovan gave her a sense of home when she learned that he had bonded(sort of) to a spirit, and it fascinated her that someone outside of her people had done it. Even though, y’know, it wasn’t intentional on Rhovan’s part and he hated every single moment of it.

I think their relationship works nicely because it just flows so well. 

Tiamat Chronicles Part One: I think I originally paired them because while they grow up differently and have different views of each other they actually have a few things in common which is the shifting point when they realize this.

Tiamat Chronicles Part Two: Only someone who is around the MC on a daily-basis was going to be the one who gains the trust needed to be completely vulnerable. So that’s where it began.

There’s no ‘Ah-Ha!’ moment for them, every single step in their relationship is just taken so naturally

Tiamat Chronicles Part Three: The events unfolding around the characters is just one clusterfuck after another and they hold each other steady. For these characters only those that have known them for some time could do that.

Tiamat Chronicles Part Four: n/a

[4] How do you handle your characters’ chemistry?

Blessed Be She: Small gestures speak the loudest for them. It gives them both comfort that the other is merely a touch away.

Tiamat Chronicles Part One: the dialogue coming out of these two my gosh

Tiamat Chronicles Part Two: The balance between when words are needed or gestures i think mixes well with these two.

Tiamat Chronicles Part Three: Their chemistry is shown by how well they know each other and that words are never really needed when it comes to them showing they care.

Tiamat Chronicles Part Four: n/a

[5] At which point in your story do your characters realize that they’re in love?

Blessed Be She: For Rhovan, he probably had an inkling shortly after Rae helped him sort out Linuad in his head. Rae is more unclear as to the beginning since i’ve bounced these two around in my head so much. I’ll say that the extent of her emotions is tested and shown in the story.

Tiamat Chronicles: I literally cannot answer any of these without giving spoilers.
