Platonic Rhink (friend-shipping and brOTP) is canon in both a lot of their fictional works and their reality-based ones. I do believe they are best friends in real life.
Romantic or sexual Rhink is fanfiction, and just for fun. I don't believe they are secretly together.
Having a fictional alternate universe (AU) where they are secretly together is fun, and doing analysis of real works with this AU perspective is also fun. I will happily enjoy such things, but if ever asked 'is it real', it should be clarified that while the analysis may be based on real things, the analysis itself is a work of fiction due to writing it from an AU perspective. It may even be prudent to have a short disclaimer on each post.
That being said, I'm probably not going to start writing analyses very much.
