This is something I would never do again. When I tell you that I made the mistake of reading Resurgence early in the morning before work, I really mean it. I went in completely blind. All I saw was that it was a college AU and exes to lovers, the usual second chance romance. I completely ignored everything else. I didn't read the full description, the warnings, or the author's note. I’m sorry, I know this must be annoying to authors. So, other readers, don't be me and read the warnings and author's note first.
The fic started off cute, but when Tae mentioned Y/N wearing long sleeves in the spring. That's when I realized she was in a bad situation. From there, the angst hit hard and fast. Now, remember, I was reading this before work and I couldn’t stop so continued it during work of course, things started unfolding, I needed to know what happened next. This fic is sometimes hard to read and find because the themes are so heavy and overwhelming. It was written incredibly well, which made everything hurt even more. I felt so much for both Y/N and Jungkook.I literally teared up, especially when Jungkook discovered that the person he loves was being hurt and felt like he was partly to blame. It's a painful reminder that the grass isn't always greener on the other side. I'm glad they found their way back to each other.
OH MY GOSH NOOO. As soon as you mentioned not reading any of the warnings or the author’s note my heart sank!! It doesn’t annoy me personally, I just feel bad for kinda blindsiding you with a really dark story! I hope it wasn’t too bad of a reading experience… it sounds like you still liked the story regardless, which I’m relieved to hear.
Thank you for stopping by to let me know it was well written and that you could feel all the emotions, that’s always the goal! I really appreciate you finishing the story despite it not being what you initially expected.
