Have you ever wished to be a child again? Have you ever wished that those fantasies you had were real? Have you ever felt really upset that you pity yourself for being not good enough and being unable to do anything about it? Have you ever felt useless because your opinion doesnât really matter at all?
When I was young, small things gave me happiness.
I used to play and do what I want in my own world.
I used to believe that if I would be good, I wouldnât make it to Santaâs naughty list.
I used to ask âso called adult thingsâ that was often answered with, âYouâll understand when you grow up.â
But now, I donât know if I should be happy that I grew up; that I began to understand what life is, how hard living is, the pressure that the society is giving you, the people who judge you for being yourself, those hypocrites who told you not to change yourself but wants you to be this and that.
I thought being a teenager would make a change but it made things worse.
Small things arenât enough because my needs are getting bigger.
I canât play like I did and do what I want because my life depends on every action I make and this is the real world.
Naughty list doesnât really matter because Santa is no real.
I shouldâve not asked about those adult things and shouldâve chosen to be innocent.
But now, Iâm not Avril who thinks that innocence is brilliance. This is life and I canât always go crying to my mama âcause Iâm on my own now in this real world like what Haley said and also, growing up is destined to happen. Innocence will be taken away and I wouldnât be safe from worries anymore. I can only wish like Tyler to turn back time to the good olâ days.
I know once in your life youâve wished to be a child again. Youâve wished that your fantasies were real. Youâve felt really upset for being not good enough and for being unable to do anything about it. Youâve felt useless because you thought your opinions doesnât matter but it does. Maybe you just uttered the right word at the wrong time. You are enough and believe me, youâll be able to do what you want if you have the courage. Of course, people always has something to say and you can listen to them but only absorb things that matter.
It is your fault if you let their mean comments get into your nerves. Always remember that you are the only person who is accountable of the things that happened, happen and will happen to you. Of course, you have made regretful decisions and unfortunately you canât restore every opportunities youâve lost yet weâre just on our way to being mature while living the real world and you can still create another satisfying memories to cherish. You have your freedom, your choice and your limitations. Learn how to balance it and youâll have a better life.
