Shout out to my public library for putting on a lei making class this AAPI Month! The librarian leading the program is native Hawaiian and the example leis are actually ones her family made! The type of lei we made is called wili lei, a traditional Hawaiian lei made by winding or twisting (wili) foliage and flowers onto raffia. I had a lot of fun and am so grateful to have had the opportunity to participate ๐บ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฑ๐ธ
