When advertisements for laser hair removal are like "Never shave again!" and I'm like... You literally do not have to shave ever. Here's my secret to never having to shave again:
THROW OUT YOUR RAZORS
Honestly as both a woman and a teenager in the current age of technology the single best decision I've made for my mental well-being was drastically reducing the time I spend on the internet.
Your attention span suffers. Everyday you get bombarded with way more information than is necessary or good for the way you process info.
Your self-esteem suffers. Everything is a flaw, everywhere you look something is being advertised to fix something that was never a problem.
Your ability to connect suffers. When is the last time you met with friends or were at a gathering and people were able to enjoy themselves without their phones? How much can you connect when youre living through your screen?
Your memory suffers. Not only do you get bombarded with way too much information, it's also readily available at a swipe. There is zero incentive to actually remember what you read or hear because you can access it at any time.
Your sleep suffers. There's been several studies on how detrimental the blue light from our screens is to our internal clock and circadian rhythm.
These are just a few. Now, I knew this before too, but take it from a fellow radical woman who has incorporated this practice into daily life. I am happier. I have more energy. I am less insecure. Do yourself a favor. I promise it's worth it.

When our culture is steeped in violence, what do we do?

The Hope of Christmas
Jesus came to re-humanize us. To renew us in knowledge in the Image of our Creator (Colossians 3:10). To do this, he was born among the displaced (Luke 2:1-7). He came to lift up (re-humanize) the poor (Luke 1:52), to feed them, to announce good news (Luke 4:18): sight for the blind, freedom for the incarcerated, and forgiveness for the indebted (Jubliee, the Year of the Lord's favor, Luke 4:19). God became human so we could learn to be human again. That is the hope of Christmas.

The preborn child is just as much a human being as you or any other are a member of the species homo sapiens, despite differences in age, development, location, ability, or otherwise. What gives us our inherent value and rights is our humanity- and all preborn humans share in that equally, too. So we must work to bring an end to abortion and, in solidarity, accompany parents experiencing unexpected or difficult pregnancies.
