        JUST LIKE THAT —— it’s a fleeting touch, but it’s enough to make his nose wrinkle and for him to go briefly CROSS-EYED. ❛ hey, what —— ? ❜ by the time he can even begin to react, she’s pulled away; he looks befuddled, bewildered, baffled: he doesn’t know quite HOW to react, not at first, though he squints at her with a bemused and faint smile that looks like it doesn’t  know quite WHAT to think. he’s not overly bothered, either way: mostly just confused. ❛ what was that for? ❜

“You know, I was working up part of my lesson plan for weapons training and I want to find the perfect weapon for you to use. But I also want to find something that you would be comfortable with…” a sigh, she was still so young and yet here she was on the opposite end of a conversation that she had gone through herself. Now as a teacher she found it just as difficult to have being on the other side, “I know you still have time, but I’d be more than glad to train you in whatever you’re comfortable with… It’s why I continued ninjutsu after coming here.” A shrug, she understood that not everyone was transplanted to America within the X-Mansion, but when she was given a student she always wanted to make them feel the most comfortable with what she was teaching them.

           “IT’S    OKAY,    I’ve    been    told    I’m   as   intimidating    as    a    KOALA.    Plus,    have    you    SEEN   a    butterfly    under    a    microscope?    If    they    were    BIGGER,    they    ABSOLUTELY    would    be    intimidating.”            Maybe    not    the    BEST    attempt    at    lifting    spirits,    but     Christine    DID    try.

She made a hard landing, cracking the asphalt below her, massive, luminescent wings flaring out as she recovered, moving slowly to her feet, and looking around. She smelled feathers somewhere, and while Kee wasn’t fool enough to expect help where she looked for it, but she was running out of options. “Hey, birdie!” she shouted, eyes on the girl she’d scented. “You able t’ fly with th’ things ya got under there?” It was a gamble. Maybe she just had a strangely-stuffed jacket, or she was on the right side of the law, but Kee’s nose hadn’t steered her wrong yet. ( Yes, it absolutely had. )
