The reason I have an angelic soul 😇
Trail Marathon Recap: Yes. It happened. I made my 5th marathon a trail race. A trail race with 9500 ft. (2890m) elevation gain. That's a lot for someone who had just some hiking and short runs at 35 degrees Celsius in the last months. But I wanted to give it a try while living in the mountains. So I did. I jogged half of the race and hiked the other half. It took me nearly eight and a half hours. I can't even say what the hardest part was...the steep first 3 miles with almost 2900 ft of elevation gain? The fact that roots and stones covered the trails? That one mountain followed the next one? Or that the "easy" downhill part started after 22/23 miles and wasn't easy at all? Because of roots, stones and the fact that I was so so sore. Another challenge was the backpack (CamelBak) with all things I had to take with me (2l of water, food, first aid kit, rain jacket, warm clothes). I counted the last kilometres one by one and was so happy when I reached the finish line. And food. OMG food. It was the best thing. I was so hungry at every single aid station and they had chocolate, fruit, pretzels, bread and tea. Although it was hard I enjoyed the nature and the whole race. And miraculously I feel absolutely great and not sore at all. I'm so so so happy that I did this even though I'm a baby trail runner with zero experiences. I'm in love with the mountains.
Hot and sweaty and loving my runs in the scorching afternoon sun☀️ I am usually a big fan of running in the cold but I have to say nothing beats a sweaty run and coming home to ice cold water and ice cream ( @championsaremade I thought of you when I dug into my ice cream post run 💕)
4/4 runs completed this week ✅✅ Could I feel that I was out drinking Friday - hell yes. Did it start raining like crazy during the run - hell yes. Did I enjoy the run anyways - OHH HELL YES 🏃

Ventura Half Marathon W7D7 Beautiful morning for a longer run. Ten miles scheduled: check. 9:35 scheduled pace: not so much. Started to struggle a bit on the back half so I threw in some faster, race paced segments. That helped. More, and better, sleep would help the most. Best to all.
Run streak day:175 Miles for the year: 701.19 2 quick miles done!! I felt like I needed a "rest" day today so I decided to keep it shorter, and I tried to not push to hard as well, still managed a decent pace though I guess I live in the 8s now lol. Also I broke 700 miles which is sooooo awesome, I can almost taste that 1,000 miles goal that has been so elusive I think I can make it!!!! Happy running everyone!!
Y'all. I did the thing. I signed up for a half marathon!!! 😱😱😱
13.1 miles here I come!!!
