lets the user generate invisible or shimmering energy shields to block attacks, deflect projectiles, and create protective domes.

the swapping povs was such a good creative choice actually. you'd see a character think something about another, and then it turns out that their perception is completely different from what's actually true. im obsessed with that.

i love vamp x wolf and i love maphinz so this??? you??? were a godsend !!!!!! im so obsessed. monsterhood as a metaphor for vulnerability. i think this fic shows exactly that and it does it so well that I'll be thinking about it for the rest of my life.

i loved dani and lara. they were both there for manon and sophia in different ways. dani was there for manon whether or not she wanted it, because dani knows that she needs it, while lara stayed a comforting shoulder for sophia to lean on.

oh my i hope everything went well in your class, i admit i get it, i'm always late for my classes, thank god i'm on break right now, but i still have to do my research which is such a drag. but i'm glad you liked it!

to be honest it's one of my favorite narrative choices, playing with character povs and showing how everything is perceived differently by them. maybe it's because i'm addicted to rpg right now, but it's so fun when lara finishes her part saying she hopes sophia knows what she's doing and sophia starts her part saying she has no clue what she's doing. i find it so hilarious how they clash and how they’ll never know it but you as the reader do, and you can and should laugh in their faces

at the end of the day im just a kid who grew up with twilight just like manon and i love the vamp/wolf trope. i can recite so many types of media i’ve consumed just because of this type of pairing. ty i think i played my part pretty well! i’m glad you liked it, i spent like two weeks writing the first chapter and every time someone says something nice about it i’m just here giggling and shit

dani and lara are definitely here both to show maphinz's human side and to show how the monstrous part can be unsettling. for manon it's more noticeable because she turns into a beast, but sophia also feels like a monster every time she has to feed. so the way lariela is written is meant to imply that—that dani will be there whether manon wants it or not because manon doesn't know how to ask for help, and lara will be a shoulder for sophia to lean on because she needs comfort… ugh i loved writing their dynamic so much that i keep sighing just thinking about how much it can expand and change, how they would be in certain situations etc

you do such a great job of world building in a condensed but detailed way; it’s so easy to feel completely engrossed in the story and the characters only a few lines in.  and you have such a recognizable flair to your descriptions and dialogue that so *perfectly* suits the historical/royal/fantasy tropes we’ve come to love from you 🤗

of course I was a sucker for this because Chan, and princess MC with a strong will of her own, and allusions to Merlin !! (umm are you inside my brain lol 😅) but Chan’s character was expertly tailored to his traits: honest, kind, strong but self-deprecating; he fit perfectly in this story.  I loved your hints of foreshadowing with the herb gathering and just how genuinely Chan and MC grew into loving each other… and I may also have read the “naughty, naughty girl” line around 883 times, but who’s counting 🤷🏼‍♀️

I know it was tough to get through this one with how busy things have been, but you really made it worth it and I’m so proud of and happy for you!! I will definitely be coming back to read this one again and again ❤️

I'm so so glad that the world-building and tropes in this fic resonated with you!! As you know yourself (and did such an awesome job with in Mamihlapinatapai!), those traits are what make historical fiction so pleasurable and enjoyable for people - but it's so easy to cross the line and make things cliché or overdone!!
