Everything Emily and I had for lunch at Hibachi Grill!
Happy New Year’s Eve, everyone! We decided to go to Hibachi Grill today before our fast, and we got a good amount of food to last us at least for a while. The cheese rangoons were good, and the spring rolls were delightfully crunchy. We also got a small assortment of sushi, including something called a fried roll, which I didn’t even know was a thing! The general tso’s chicken was a bit dry, and the sauce didn’t mix very well with the hibachi rice.
Of course, with it being a buffet, we had to go and get seconds. We still got the cheese rangoons and the sushi, but we also got some Texas-style garlic bread and some rice noodles. The garlic bread was a bit dry on the bottom, but the flavor was still good, and the rice noodles were delicious, as usual.
And of course, we had to get ice cream. We got some chocolate and vanilla ice cream with a drizzle of chocolate sauce to top it off. A couple scoops were a bit frozen, but that didn’t stop us!

Takeout-style Rangoons
The members of my family who can eat gluten always get rangoons from Panda Express. They look so good and I always wished I can eat them... wish granted!
Ingredients
♡ Gluten free wonton wrappers (find recipe here)
♡ 4 oz cream cheese, room temperature
♡ 1/8 tsp garlic powder
♡ 1 tblsp chives, chopped
Instructions
☆ Mix together cream cheese, garlic powder, and chives
☆ Put about 1 tblsp of the cream cheese mixture on a wonton wrapper. Wet the edges of the wrapper and fold
☆ When all rangoons are ready, heat a few inches of oil in a high-sided pot.
☆ Fry rangoons in pot until golden brown, let cool on plate covered with paper towels
☆ Serve with soy sauce
