i can't emphasize enough to people feeling hopeless and despondent about the world today that you should read lenin.
this isn't a bit. it's not even necessarily a matter of you becoming leninist (though I think that would be neat!). in a time that feels hopeless and a place where the future seems non-existent, it is genuinely comforting to read someone who has detailed in depth, literally, what is to be done.
for all the stereotypes about commies wanting you to Read Theory, I think there is a genuine case to be made for doing it not just out of a desire for education, but because you need a reminder that a better world is possible, one that you can feel hopeful about, and there is a path there that we can help to walk together.
