Gang, is it gay to go stargazing with your 'lab assistant' who left everything in his life for you and to admit your greatful he's there with you while staring up at a constellation of your muse, your world, the center of your world??
The fact Bill was his fave constellation....
Stop Disrespecting Enzo St. John: A Manifesto š„š„
I am so tired of this fandom treating Enzo like a "sarcastic knock-off" of Damon or Klaus just because they refuse to look past the leather jacket and the accent. If you think Enzo is just a "silly" character, you arenāt just missing the pointāyouāre ignoring one of the most tragic, gritty survival stories in the whole show.
Enzo wasn't born with a silver spoon, a family legacy, or an Original name to protect him. He was an orphan who was starved, sick, and discarded by every person who was supposed to protect him. While the Salvatores were playing hero in Mystic Falls and the Mikaelsons were ruling empires, Enzo was locked in a basement for seventy years, being carved up like a science project by the Augustines. He didnāt have a "humanity switch" to hide behind; he sat in that agony for seven decades and the only thing that kept him going was a loyalty that his "best friend" literally let burn to the ground.
Enzo went after Stefan for Caroline. He called Stefan out on his BS when no one else would. He was ready to be the "villain" in the eyes of the Salvatores just to make sure Caroline knew she wasnāt crazy for expecting better. That isn't "silly" or "annoying"āthat is the actions of a man who knows exactly what it feels like to be abandoned and refused to let it happen to someone else on his watch. He gave Caroline the kind of fierce, unconditional protection that Stefan was too "broody" to provide.
The "knock-off" argument is pure laziness. Klaus burned the world because he wanted to be feared; Enzo burned things because he refused to be invisible ever again. If Enzo had been a white lead pining over Elena, the fandom would have called him "tortured and romantic. The actor who plays Enzo, Michael Malarkey, is mixed-race. He was born to an Irish-American father and a British mother of Arab/Palestinian and Italian descent.
He is the blueprint for the person who has been used as a tool, who has been "starved" of basic decency, and who had to claw his way out of the dirt to even get a seat at the table. He didn't have a family to bail him out. He was his own foundation.
And letās be real for a second: a huge chunk of the Enzo hate comes from people who simply don't believe he "deserved" Bonnie, and itās the most transparent thing in this fandom. They use Bonnieās worth as a weapon to stay mad at Enzo "he didn't deserve Bonnie" crowd They were two people who were tired of being everyone else's sacrifice finally choosing each other.
But I get it. I really do. You can look at the way the writers handled Bonnie and Enzo and see the "racist pairing" tropesāhow they were sidelined, how their story was rushed, and how it felt like the writers just threw the two remaining characters of color together because they didn't know what else to do with them. That is a valid critique of the showrunners. You can be mad at Julie Plec and the writers for how they handled Bonnie's love life without stripping Enzo of his agency and his fire
Enzo is for the kids who had to work for every scrap, who were used by people in power, and who had to use sarcasm as a shield because the world was too busy trying to break them. He isnāt "Damon-lite." Heās the man who survived a literal horror movie and still had enough heart left to be the most loyal person in the room. If you can sympathize with a thousand-year-old hybrid but can't see the fire in a man who crawled out of an Augustine hellscape on his own, the math isn't adding up. Enzo St. John was the powerhouse, the survivor, and the only one who actually stayed ten toes down. Period.

Do you know what I want to see I want to see a piece of Star Trek fiction that establishes that Starfleet has some equivalent of StackOverflow for Engineering Nonsense and/or Weird Science Stuff. Stuff like: WarpCoreGalore: Iām trying to get a DX-28 Shield Array running off an isolated auxiliary power system. It worked fine with my old Nexus-VI Manifold Generator, but now all I have is a salvaged Klingon DāKlath 2455-Pkar. The specs say it SHOULD match for output and compatibility, but I just canāt get it to take. VulcanUser#213422: Our first question should be why you must use an auxiliary power source. The DX-28 achieves optimal performance when fully integrated into the primary power system on 74.2% of Starfleet vessels. WarpCoreGalore: Our Primary power system is inhabited by some sort of Sapient power fluctuation that says the DX-28 makes it feel āItchyā. We were going to evict it but it regulates power usage for all other systems quite well and increases our output:usage efficiency by 3.5% so long as we donāt need it to power shields, so auxiliary power it is.
VulcanUser#213422: A logical response to an illogical situation.
VulcanUser#523211: I concur

(410 similar replies hiddenā¦.click to expand) MilesOProblems: Did you salvage the DāKlath yourself or buy it secondhand? If you didnāt personally pull it from the guts of a Bird of Prey, you probably donāt have a 2455-Pkar. The Ferengi got their hands on a load of DāKlath 2380s when Martok ordered the fleet to be upgraded, they threw on an amplifier and resold them as 2455-Pkars. Theyāre usually fine, but the compatibility issues youāre seeing are due to that ferengi amplifier. Replicate yourself a starfleet standard GX42100, install Darmok29 on it to handle the different interfaces, swap it in and you should be good to go. WarpCoreGalore: Thanks MilesOProblems. But a LOT of the time itās things like ScottyInTheTubes: Ship (Constitution Class) got exposed to something the Science officer called a āBlue Holeā, now the Warp Drive is showing weird symptoms: 1) Power fluctuations 4.7% Outside nominal range.
2) Command-Response-Time increased by 53%
3) Whispers to me in my motherās voice asking why I havenāt called.Ā
4) Everybody who comes through the transporter canāt taste Cilantro anymore.Ā
5) Shipās CMO had to be restrained for trying to bludgeon the captain with a chair (Probably unrelated).
What do I do? ScottyintheTubes: Nevermind, Figured it out.Ā
GoldShirt98:@scottyinthetubes, were it not for the Temporal Prime Directive, I would travel back in time and strangle you. TELL US WHAT YOU DID! IT TOOK WEEKS TO FIGURE THIS OUT!
VulcanUser#5412: @Goldshirt98 I notice that you also failed to provide a properly documented solution to this issue.Ā
GoldShirt98: @VulcanUser#5412 Shove it up your ears. Iāll get around to it once I can feel my tongue again.Ā
