ArcV Month day 3: Duetto of Duelist and Spirit
The primary principle of Entertainment Dueling is to become one with your cards, to put on the best show ever in tandem with the monsters in your Deck. Show us your favorite cards today, and the story behind your partners of choice!
If we're talking single cards, it's gotta be Crystal Wing.
Evolution of the best (aesthetic) Dimension Dragon. Competetive Powerhouse. Living Crystal themes which I've always been a sucker for (have y'all seen Adamancipators? *Chef's kiss*) can beat over ANYTHING as long as it has a level, and does a good job protecting itself. This is the exact kind of boss monster I want to build into.
I played SO many anime decks from around this time; Lunalight, Performapal, Odd Eyes (even tried a weird burn variant when Phantasm Dragon came out with the manga), RaidRaptor, Pendulum Magicians, even tried D/D/D, but that was too big-brained for me. My baby, though, was Raidraptors and Fluffals.
The Rank-Up turbo build of Raidraptors, supported by the eras absurd consistency and the scattered winged-beast support that had helped Blackwing in their hayday let me put up Spectacular boards that could handle anything...except for a negate or going first. Fluffals also lived for the searching, and whether it was slowly building up a Frightfur bear, slapping a Fusion Weapon on Wolf and going for the OTK, or mass-popping with Frightfur tiger, you could kinda do anything. Of the two, Fluffal has aged much better, with manga support that...actually worked, real starters, and the sheer volume of generic fusion support. In the modern day, I still run both of these, but Predaplant is a load of fun nowadays, and the modern build of Pendulum Magician is a blast...even those I usually waste my time going into Supreme King monsters instead of establishing some Link Arrows so I can actually pend more than one.
