Sparklings and Creation #1
First thing first: this idea came up by a previous player within the original Titans Rising campaign, and thus I would like to say that while this is not my original idea, I've since accepted this as a headcanon.
Cybertronians have since lost the ability to grow frames, so on the off chance that a Sparkling is created upon a Spark Merge, it is up to the Creators to build a Sparkling frame before removing the Sparkling from the Carrier's sparkling chamber.
Post-Great War, when the total Cybertronian population was less than 20,000, a modification was created which allowed those who had it to be able to assemble a sparkling frame "organically", at a cost similar to a human's pregnancy craving and higher energon intake.
Where I've Been and What This Means
So, this is... very heavy-hearted to type. Y'all may have noticed that since I announced that I was running a Transformers-inspired D&D campaign 3 years ago, I suddenly went quiet around the same time as the pandemic.
From late 09/2019 to early 02/2020, the campaign ran, and it was my first time DMing EVER. I made mistakes that I greatly regret, and when we took a break from that and moved to try and see if it was just me, it was revealed that two players were... not exactly the best for my mental health.
For, you see, we had a mutiny channel, where I the DM couldn't read what the players were seeing so they could plan stuff. And instead, 3 of 4 were saying awful things about my storytelling and characters. I only know this cause we agreed that when the campaign ended, I was allowed to read the channel. So when the campaign ended, I could only handle reading just a few sentences that had been sent before it made me sick.
My mental health and self-worth spiraled from that, and in late 2020, I hesitantly began another D&D campaign, to see if it really was me who was the problem or not. That campaign has been running strong for over 2 years now, and while I'm slowly getting confidence back in my DMing skills, the campaign forever tarnished my love of Transformers.
Truthfully, for a time, I only stayed in the fandom to finish a commission, but one of the previous players (the only one who didn't say anything awful about me) reached out, and we reconnected.
I'm finally to the point where I feel well enough to be able to stand watching anything with Cybertronians again, but the bridge is made of glass and my mind weighs heavily, so I'm taking this one day at a time.
I'll be working alongside one of the confirmed players to create a Lore document for Titans Rising: Reborn, which will be streamed/published on YT for everyone to view. Yes, I'm slowly reintegrating myself back into the fandom to try the thing that ripped me out again lol
I'll be doing heavy screening this time, and it's very possible I might be including some of the players from my 2-year campaign, as I know and trust them not to go too far.
Now, what does this mean for this blog going forward?
I will still take requests, but only now and then.
I will mainly be posting one headcanon per day, with a post later on explaining why we think this should be canon. You can put your own headcanons in the ask, and we'll give a debate on it as well!
My OCs will still have the option of being asked about, as well as any NPC from the future Titans Rising campaign.
I've completely wiped my inbox, and while I'd love to answer some questions, please refrain from requests just yet.
Thank you for making it this far, and thank you for sticking around for these last few years <3
