NGC 1398
Some galaxies create amazing ring like structures, usually caused by resonance or gravitational shock after past interactions.
These waves cause huge amounts of star formation, but they also quench the inner sections of gas and dust. Along the shock wave where that dust and gas is being pushed outwards, you can see it interacts with the gas and dust already there and the density spawns star formation, the blue/pink regions in the galaxy.

The Devil’s In The Details
I swear, this show just keeps stunning. They could have just made Sokka’s sword, could have just shown the forge, could have stopped at the hot working of the blade. NOPE! Not this show, they’ll show the full quenching procedure as well as thermal gradient dissolution and solution bubble formation and diffusion. The attention to detail is professional and the animation is fantastic.
By well-doing we are to be the instruments of quenching the animosity and the ill-doing of those who persecute and maltreat us.
John Murray
