Forged a knife from a broken car spring. Lots of fun to make something beautiful from something so ugly.
Need to fix my errant hammer blows, they really stand out after sharpening
Took the most insanely badass picture of my LIFE on the weekend. Behold, @aesa-draumspakr lifting an in-progress sword from an oil quench during the heat treating process.
FUN IRON FACT!!!!

making design documents but its actually fun
About 5 1/4" long, 2" wide
and yea, im learning how to do hamons for this!! figures it'd be fanart that got me to do it lol
im thinking just mild steel from rail spikes for the guard and handle, especially since ill have to saw that guard eye and rail anchor steel for the blade? six points of carbon should be enough for a good hamon, from what i can tell
Can't decide if i want that thick ridge at the back?? or if that makes it too busy. hrmm.. ill figure it out!!
hope you end up liking it, @wolfertinger666 😊
Im gonna try out blacksmithing soon, gonna buy some basic materials to make a shitty inground forge, and a piece of metal as a anvil, any advice for a beginner besides like, tools and stuff
