Out of curiosity, I wanted to see what other members were posting on Facebook about the November policy change from four years ago. The first post that came up was this one.
(I cropped out the name of who posted it)
He says that the article wasn't written by a mormon, but it was. The article is no longer available. (Most likely taken down when the policy was reversed)
It's extremely frustrating that when the policy was first released, people went out of their ways to write lengthy articles to suppress the uneasy feelings these changed gave people.
Many of the comments were applauding the policy change. A particularly hateful commented stated "Homosexuality is undeniably a sin. Let's quit dumbing down the gospel to make us look nice or politically correct."
It's also frustrating how he adds that's he's not at all worked up about this policy change. Well of course you're not worked up, it didn't involve you.
I don't know what's more hurtful... members who were aware of this policy change and had the gaul to say things like this, or members who have little to no idea of the hurtful changes that occurred.
Of course those who were so adamantly for the policy change said nothing about how they were wrong when it was reversed. And most members who were unaware of details of the policy change are still blissfully unconcerned or aware of the damage that it has caused.
