t1. Zero Gravity 

my mind can’t jump to the obvious space AU because I think about that dumb movie with sandra bullock. so this would be a romcom type fic about someone’s life or career being completely upended by circumstances out of their control and slowly readjusting, while also being RELENTLESSLY courted by someone new in their life. will they let someone in or float thru metaphorical space forever? who knows! 

potential ships: monica/erlich, um even cj/patrice, aka rarepair of the century? 

2. The Highest Hiding Place

this is corny, but it’s about Jared being a sort of a... human being given the power to protect people from danger/malevolent spirits, evocative of the middle American Christian idea of a guardian angel. meaning lots of references to that upbringing. but also Jared has aged the same as everyone else and has had his fair share of traumas. 

it would focus on him & Richard’s relationship but probably would be pretty fucking sad. 

3. It passes, but it does not pass away.

since Im enamored with the lengthy documentation of dinesh and gilfoyle’s relationship, and how they bring out the worst in each other, here’s my concept: set ~15 years after the eventual demise of PP, where Dinesh founds his own company without him and becomes a billionaire overnight, with ambition to the moon and back, whereas Gilfoyle ends up settling in his career/life as the CTO of some big deal company. they see each other again at a gala. nothing’s different between them besides how much they missed each other. legit only goes dowhill from there.

jared (or all of them, TBQH): an odd habit/behavior in their adult life that's borne out of a childhood experience. Also: a thing they do to ease out of stress.

Oh gosh I mean given Jared’s horrific childhood, he has so many little tiny heartbreaking habits rooted in trauma, like constantly apologizing, and obsessively making sure his door is locked at night. And sometimes he’ll just leave a situation - like in college he’d walk out of lectures, or as an adult he’d leave his office to go to the bathroom or get a cup of tea, or when he’s in bed with a partner he’ll ask them to stop - just to make sure he can, just to make sure no one’s going to chase after him and drag him back into the lecture or into his office, just to make sure his partner will stop when he needs them to. (Because he’s still not used to being free, to not having to answer to abusive parents or stay in abusive horrible situations if he doesn’t want to.)
