Worth the risk ~ Brother!Stiles Stilinski
Summary: Stiles is a great older brother. That is until he scares off any boys that gets too close.
Warnings: Possible language, protective!Stiles,.
Having Stiles as an older brother is amazing. He’s caring in his own chaotic way - funny, supportive, and protective. Sometimes way too protective.
Especially when it comes to you dating.
Most guys at school knew the drill: talk to you, get a death glare from Stiles. And if he caught someone trying to flirt with you? They suddenly remembered they had “somewhere else to be.”
You were used to it by now… even if it annoyed you.
But today, at your locker, someone actually approached you anyway.
Logan Blackburn.
“Hey,” he said, tapping lightly on the locker beside yours. His voice was low, warm, and - annoyingly - made your stomach flutter.
You turned, trying not to look surprised. “Oh. Hi.”
Logan smiled - slow, confident but not cocky. “I’ve been trying to catch you all week.”
Your brain short-circuited for a second. “Me?”
“Yeah, you.” His eyes flicked over you quickly, not in a weird way, just… noticing. “I figured it was now or never, before your brother chases me off with a lacrosse stick.”
You snorted. “Honestly? Not an unreasonable fear.”
“Worth the risk,” he said without hesitation, and that one line nearly melted you on the spot.
Before you could even answer, a loud voice cut through the hallway:
“WHAT EXACTLY IS WORTH THE RISK?”
Oh no.
Stiles was marching toward you both, eyebrows already in full interrogation mode. Behind him trailed Scott, Lydia, Malia, and even Liam - watching like they’d bought tickets.
Logan didn’t move away from you. If anything, he stood a little straighter.
“Relax, Stilinski,” Logan said calmly. “I was just talking to your sister.”
“Yeah, I saw that,” Stiles replied, pointing two fingers dramatically between the two of you. “Talking can mean a lot of things. Talking can mean plotting. Talking can mean flirting. Talking can mean-”
“Stiles,” you hissed through your teeth.
Scott stepped in, hands up. “Let’s just… everyone breathe?”
Lydia leaned toward Malia, whispering loudly enough for you to hear, “Honestly, I’m rooting for Logan. He’s cute.”
Malia nodded. “I like his face. It’s symmetrical.”
You tried to hide your mortification.
Logan, for his part, looked more amused than intimidated.
“So,” he said, turning back to you like the rest of them weren’t even there, “I was gonna ask if maybe you wanted to grab a coffee after school? If that’s something you’d be into.”
Your heart flopped over. “Yeah. I… I’d like that.”
Stiles made a strangled sound. “LIKE THAT?! Like! like, like like that?!”
Scott placed a calming hand on his shoulder before he could combust.
Logan just grinned at you. “Cool. I’ll meet you outside.”
He gave you one last, warm look before walking off, completely ignoring Stiles’ laser-beam stare.
The minute he was out of earshot, Stiles whirled on you.
“Oh no. No, no, no - this is not happening.”
“Stiles,” you said, shoving your locker closed. “It’s just coffee.”
“That’s where it always starts,” he muttered dramatically. “First coffee, then feelings, then I have to give ‘protective older brother’ speeches, then Scott makes me calm down, then I cry-”
Scott blinked. “Why am I always involved?”
But you were barely listening.
Because all you could think about was Logan Blackburn’s smile… and the fact that he wasn’t afraid of Stiles.
Which, honestly?
Might’ve been the most attractive thing of all.
