BEYOND THE FRAMEĀ
INDUCTION TO 3D WORKSHOP
This workshop introduced us to the possibilities of 3D and the use of wood or other materials instead of paper for our projects.Ā
As an induction to the different machines and tools we created a door hook. This allowed us to get involved with hand held tools and machines. First we used the template to draw an outline of the shape. Then with using a tool (I can't remember the name of!!) we cut around the edges creating a curve at the top and bottom. We then clamped our door hook down to the bench and drilled a small hole at the bottom. After that we drilled out the larger hole at the top to create the hook. Then sanded down the entire thing.Ā
I found this workshop extremely fun and very hands on. It gave me a few ideas for my own project about printing onto wood instead of paper. I want to somehow create an image that interprets environmental issues and damage, and print it onto the source of material that we are harming such as wood.Ā
