[ID: eight images in black and white, slightly out of focus. The images are as follows: a Ferris wheel against a clear sky, the front of a British terrace with a bicycle parked outside, three human silhouettes over a beach, close up of a fossil, a Victorian style merry go round, cliffs in South West England, a cottage by the side of the road, and a fishing boat at sea.]

One lazy June evening, beloved seaside town Stowmouth has its portion of the Jurassic Coast devastated by a landslide in the dead of night, killing 23-year-old Jade Fleming in the process. As the community grieves, they are thrown yet again at the reveal of the fossilised remains of an undiscovered prehistoric creature. Between their mourning, the town summons famed scientist Glen Langley from London to study the beast.
Zara Langley moved to Stowmouth, Dorset for exactly one reason: itâs her motherâs childhood home, she refuses to come back, making it the only place where her parents cannot reach her. Working at a secondhand record store in the beloved seaside town, Zara never has to tell anyone her father is nationâs favourite palaeontologist - until now.
All Peter Moss knows is that one night his brother, Dom, showed up at his door, blankly stating that he just saw his girlfriend die. While Peter struggles to gather the appropriate amount of grief for Jadeâa death, he also must come to terms with the fact that Dom has never been the same since, and avoid thinking about how he might never be the same again.
Debilitatingly shy Erin Sinclair has been unable to visit her childhood home after her parentâs divorce until she gets the news that her oldest friend is dead. Now she canât bear to be anywhere else. As she must deal with her own loss, and that of her betrayed mother, she reminisces about her old life: a journey that makes her increasingly aware of how the tragedy was set in motion years before.
The longer Jade remains dead, and the more is dug up from the landslip, the more strange things start happening around Stowmouth. And from there on out, it only gets stranger.
And there we have it! Nanowrimo 2021 is formally announced! Iâm turning my childhood holiday destination into horror! I wonât be doing taglists, but will be posting about it in my WIP server!
