gave a presentation to the surgery residents on perioperative glucose control and taught them how to dose basal insulin
picked a wedding venue and date!
managed all the floor patients while the surgery residents were in the OR
boy commented on how much more confident I seem about medicine and the job I am doing
had feedback from faculty on how to work more efficiently
celebrated Hannukah with Boy, Christmas with my family, and New Yearās with my two best friends from high school
felt frustrated and overwhelmed by our patient load, but still energized while I was at the hospital - just exhausted at home
had a patient in her 90s recover after we thought she might die - blood pressures in the 50s systolic overnight, singing to herself the next morning, demanding a glass of water the next afternoon, and telling me she is known for beating all the men in poker
had a patient who asked if his hernia was fromĀ āsucking in his gut too much to try to look good for the ladiesā
had a 97yo patient who, when asked about pain, reported that sheĀ āhad pain yesterday but yāallĀ with all this ruckus about maybe needing surgery scared it away. ... I donāt want surgery! Iām OLD!ā
had some really good clinic visits with patients who are changing bad habits, removing themselves from toxic relationships, getting their blood pressure/blood glucose under control, starting PrEP, getting help for depression and sharing their successes/journey with me
disagreed with a consultant, politely asked him for his rationale behind his decision, and ended up having a really great discussion with him about antibiotic courses and learned a ton

starting to get really excited about Match Day (even though itās a few months away) and finding out who next years interns will be and finding out where my med school friends will end up
need to do some serious work on my resident research project that I am unfortunately not all that psyched about
trying to get my butt in shape - Boy and I are hiking in the Grand Canyon for our next vacation and I am trying not to die
