Rey seeing herself in the mirror. At first I was like ‘??? Why not show her parents instead?’ But the truth is, Rey IS her own parent. She RAISED HERSELF. She gave herself the basic necessities she needed to survive and protected herself from danger. She didn’t have parents--at least the definition of what parents should be--and that really took a toll on her. It’s like Kylo was telling her, she’s trying to find her parents in other people, but the truth is that it’s because she’s filling that void. Her parents were horrible. And Rey she DID EVRYTHING for herself, she RAISED HERSELF and TAUGHT HERSELF everything--and that’s the reality for some kids out there. It’s such a sad, beautiful truth.
