All Moprhs in Power Rangers Ninja Steel | Power Rangers Official
“I’m not saying it’s Evox but it’s Evox.”
-Steel, most definitely.
We return to Coral Harbor where Devon and Blaze are now on better terms in their rematch at the Gym, likely some rehabilitation after being in stasis. I’d imagine seeing the worst of him embodied in his Avatar let Blaze see some sense once he came to. I suppose this is what Commander Shaw saw in him.
All the while, Ravi and Roxy have been dating again without any Grid Battleforce regulations to contend with. Mind you, a picnic isn’t much compared to devastating her Avatar after hulking out but that’s just me. It’s all a neat little parallel to how things were quite the opposite way back in Season 1′s premiere.
Mayor Daniels has taken to help cities like Paris implement Morph-X into their energy systems in what I can only assume is part of Evox’s newest plan. Calling it now: the more towers across the world will allow him to seize control of the Morphing Grid once they’re connected. Perhaps even control dimensions... :P
The Rangers are still active in order to train for the next threat before Nate reveals the Beast X Ultra Blaster, a Power Ranger exclusive that really wrecks their training area. I’m willing to bet that it’ll be summoned for the Ultrazord when the Cheetah X Blaster won’t cut it but I hope it’ll be in ground combat too.
Steel comes in with the most cliched conspiracy theory board to prove that Evox is still out there, complete with connecting threads and everything. Sadly, his fellow Rangers don’t believe him even when he brings up the leak from a Morph-X tower and the suspicious lack of a clean-up report. Feels like a set-up for a detective spin-off where Steel’s Sherlock Holmes. Someone get the BBC!
Devon meets up with his dad after he returns from Paris but can’t spend much time with so much to do with the Morph-X expansion. I get the sense that Evox possessing his father will be something Devon discovers first and maybe keeps a secret from not unlike how Trent dealt with his dad becoming Messagog. I can see him becoming more like Hiromu in terms of learning not to go it all alone. :P
Steel finds that his evidence isn’t much to go off of even when he takes the Rangers out to the area near the leaked tower. Sadly, he takes it personally and goes off on his own right before they discover Scrozzle with Drilltron 2.0, mining for the Morph-X that seeped deep into the underground caverns below.
Scrozzle gets away with his spoils before Drilldrone gives the Rangers a run for their money and even gets the Tronics to hold them in place for a steady shot. Steel makes the save by blasting the Robotron away but a bigger problem falls out of the sky and crashes into the Earth itself to gather more Morph-X. The zords are deployed as Zoey and Steel head off to keep the Robotron at bay.
I love that they choose this Go-Busters episode for their season premiere since it’s a great display of the Zords working off each other individually. Nate lowers Devon down into the crater while Ravi stands guard before for Gigatronics pop out to play. Devon actually gets an inventive idea to hook Drilldrone 2.0 to the Wreaker Zord’s hook so he can solely focus on the other Gigatronic pair there.
Zoey and Steel even get time to shine in their mechs after dispatching Drilltron together. The Rabbit Zord’s animal mode returns to literally kick some bot while Steel has has Jet Zord partially take on his beetle mode to carry Drilldrone into the city so Nate can put it down for good. I really feel like this is what Ninja Steel lacked in its giant battles, something gained from Ninninger with little mitigation.
Steel makes peace with his team over their misunderstanding, especially with Evox’s survival along with new Gigadrones to contend with. Needless to say, this was a very good way to ring in the second season with great ground and giant battles from a great Super Sentai episode. And considering the coming crossovers, I have a very good feeling that this season’s... about to get wild...
