"Are you frightened?"
"Yes."
"Not nearly frightened enough. I know what hunts you."
All shot using real figures and miniature sets.
Starting 2025 with a living room upgrade 🥲❤️
Prancing Pink Pony Club
Is meet-embarrassing a concept? Because it should be. 😂
Another plotbunny ahoy!
So I literally just listened to Pink Pony Club by Chappell Roan for the first time. I can't believe I haven't until today.
And of course, between the song and the music video, I've come up with a plotbunny.
Lothíriel is a descendant of Japanese zaibatsu people on the one side and Boston Brahmins on the other.* She attends a friend's bachelorette party in LA, which takes place in a vibrant, queer-friendly bar.
The girls all sing sexy karaoke and dance on stage (which may or may not include a stripper pole 😂). Lothíriel is reluctant, having always been wary of scandal and bad press. But one of the party is the bride's sister-in-law, an author whom Lothíriel admires. (Yep, Cora Nisilë, my hard-living, bestselling writer-alterego is back). She manipulates Lothíriel into dancing on stage.
Lothíriel is awkward at first, but for a few anxious moments, the music breaks her inhibitions, and she puts on quite a show.
Meanwhile, Éomer and Merry Brandybuck are at the club, having snuck in for shits and giggles. They are business partners, and usually, this is not their sort of place.
When Lothíriel comes down from the stage, flushed and flustered, someone in the bridal party tells her that a man wearing an awkward trucker hat has sent her a drink.
(*For non-USamericans, being a Boston Brahmin has nothing to do with Indian castes. It is the name given to upper-class Bostonians who have lived and held wealth and leadership positions in the city for multiple generations. Usually, they are WASPs - that is, White Anglo Saxon Protestants.
**Lothíriel FC is Reina Triendl, who is half Japanese.)

Shout out to the forgetful but incredibly kind Mr. Butterbur who runs the Prancing Pony. That guy is the epitome of comfy AND cozy - heard about life threatening danger and said “what kind of world are we living in where people have a hard time sleeping in my cozy inn :(((“
Thorin in Prancing Pony -Bree
Mysterious...Still can't believe he was in the same town and tavern where in 60 years will be Frodo and Sam.
