Powerdive, aka Blade
The “GDO” series refers to a number of Generations toys initially produced for Asian markets and later imported to the US by Toys “R” Us for the 2012 holiday season. The toys, produced on a lower budget, featured previously unused or newly tooled headsculpts and accessories to repurpose previous figures as new characters.
The lower production values are most evident in the series’ stock photos, which feature digibashes of previous stock photos. Above, the first four images show the stock photos for the Deluxe class as seen in their instructions, showing differences in deco and tooling.
However, for the Voyager class releases, the instructions show earlier mockups of the figures in which the new tooling is photoshopped onto older stock photos but the deco remains unchanged, as demonstrated with Megatron’s and Hot Spot’s robot modes. The vehicle modes decoes are correct.
The final image, taken from the earlier, Asian market release of Powerdive (source) goes one step further, showing HFTD Highbrow’s deco and characteristic “P+10” tampographs (source) in both robot and vehicle mode.
